Chapter 63
Raven sighed and muttered into the phone, โElvis, Iโm going to hang up.โ All she wanted to do was hang up. Elvis said faintly, โThe human who strengthened you is back. Your adopted sister, North, is in town.โ
Raven remained silent.
โTake care of your sister, North. Donโt let her argue with me about Olive again.โ
Raven quickly ended the call.
The next day, Olive and North went shopping. Olive wore a white knitted sweater with a fringed sash tied around her waist, the sweater falling to her knees, paired with crystal high heels. North wore a gray suit. Both wore hats, hoping to shop unrecognized. As they approached a fashion store, they spotted Pamela and Gwen Heaven. Gwen, Harryโs younger sister and a struggling actress whose only asset was her beauty, was surrounded by a group of women.
โPamela, are you dating Mr. Augustine?โ one woman asked.
โHow did you get the youngest business executive to partner with you?โ another inquired curiously.
Pamela chatted with them, her beautiful face radiating pride despite her soft tone. Gwen saw Olive and North first, muttering sarcastically, โLook who we have here. An adopted daughter and a nobody who just reappeared.โ
Pamela, in a beautiful pink dress, quickly pulled Gwen aside, whispering, โGwen, weโre all friends.โ
โPamela, youโre the one President Augustine likes now. How can you still be friends with them? Olive here probably doesn't even know who Mr. Augustine is. Should I tell her?โ
Pamela smiled at Olive, saying, โOlive, I havenโt had the chance to tell you about my relationship with President Augustine. Come by later; Iโll introduce you.โ Pamela watched Olive, eager to see envy on her face. But Olive merely pouted and said, โPamela, if I hadnโt left LA, you would have had to compete with me for the top socialite position. Itโs better if I donโt meet President Augustine. You know what Iโm capable of.โ
Pamela stiffened. North chuckled. Gwen, who hated North mostโthe Heaven and Domino families were close, and she had liked Raven since childhoodโturned to glare at her. North, from a wealthy background, had lost her parents in a car explosion, her brother also missing in the accident. The Domino family adopted her. As a child, Northโs striking beauty captivated everyone; boys showered her with gifts to win her favor. She retained that allure, quickly becoming famous and beloved. Since North joined the Domino family, Raven treated her like a baby sister.
Pamela, calming herself, said slowly to North, โNorth, when did you arrive? We thought youโd never come back. Youโre an adult now. I can't believe you ran away because of that one incident.โ Pamela strategically used Northโs past pain. Seeing this, Gwen added, โNorth, arenโt you shameless? On your eighteenth birthday, you ran into Ravenโs room and got into his bed.โ
The incident had been kept quiet by the Domino family, but those present knew about it.
Olive looked at North worriedly, but Northโs expression remained unchanged. She arched a brow seductively and said, โGwen, are you envious that I had sex with Raven? Why don't you relax and let me give you some details, like his size and skills?โ
Gwen clenched her fists. โNorth, have you forgotten that Raven slapped you?โ
Suddenly, Pamela exclaimed, โRaven, youโre here!โ
They all turned to the doorway. Raven, impeccably dressed in a black suit, entered. He was as handsome as ever, his refined upbringing evident in his gentle elegance. He looked at North, who tilted her head and said sweetly, โBrother, youโre here. I havenโt seen you in two years. Youโve become much more handsome.โ
Raven stared at her, replying indifferently, โIโm here for a meeting.โ
โOh,โ North murmured, surprised to realize the mall was owned by the Dominos.
Gwen started to speak, but Ravenโs gaze silenced her, a shiver running down her spine. He turned back to North. โNorth, continue shopping. Iโll have a meeting and take you home afterward.โ
North shrugged. โOkay, thank you, bro.โ
Pamela stepped forward, calling elegantly, โRaven.โ They began to converse.
Olive pulled North aside, whispering, โWhatโs going on?โ
North, casually picking up a suspender dress, muttered, โRaven likes Pamela. On my eighteenth birthday, while we were in bed together, he kept murmuring Pamelaโs name.โ
