Chapter 11

As the thought of Kyle and Faith together played in her mind, Belle clenched her teeth, a surge of anger rising. Something she had discarded wasn't hers anymore, but if she hadn't given her approval, no one else should have it either.

"Mom, are you sure about what you saw?"

"Of course, I'm sure!" Margaret spat. "Why would I lie about this? They've probably been sneaking around for years. Why else would they get together right after the divorce? Shameless, the both of them."

Her voice grew louder with fury. "And here you are, feeling guilty about Kyle, when he has already betrayed you! Don't worry, sweetheart—I've got this. I'll make sure he pays."

Belle's eyes blazed with anger, as though she'd been personally betrayed and abandoned. But seeing Margaret's eagerness to escalate things, she shook her head. "Mom, I'll handle this myself. Just punishing them is too easy. I'll make them regret crossing me. If they don't know their place, I'll make sure they learn." Margaret smirked, excitement gleaming in her eyes. She rarely saw Belle this cold and determined, and when she did, it meant Belle was serious. When Belle was angry, she never held back.

"Oh, and another thing," Margaret added, her tone calculated. "That compensation money you were going to give Kyle? Don't bother. Give it to your brother instead. He's getting married soon, and weddings cost money. Plus, you know how expensive dating is these days—he needs to impress his girlfriend. Otherwise, people will look down on him."

Belle didn't care much about money and always spoiled Matthew.

"Fine," she replied, her voice clipped. "Give it to him. I'm heading out. Don't interfere with this. I'll handle everything."

The fury simmering inside her made it difficult to tell who had betrayed or wronged whom.

Once outside, Belle immediately called Kyle.
