Chapter 21
Peter realized he was being ambushed because of Faith. He felt, however, that his status and position would protect him from serious consequences. He didn't know that Kyle disregarded his status entirely. To Kyle, Peter's identity was irrelevant.
Kyle flicked ash from his cigarette and said, "The bastard you're talking about is me."
"I won't explain further. You will feel immeasurable pain—pain so excruciating you'll beg for death." Kyle produced his acupuncture kit. The golden needles could save lives, but they could also kill or torture. As his fingers touched them, a horrifying aura emanated from him. He was preparing to torture Peter.
"When these two needles find their targets, you won't be able to speak. Even if the pain makes you want to die, you still won't be able to speak, and you'll lose the ability to move. No matter how much agony you're in, you won't be able to struggle."
Kyle shook his head. "Honestly, this seems cruel, but it's fine. You're an animal; you won't notice the difference."
His cold statement was far more terrifying than any shouting. Peter urinated in fright, soaking the bedsheets. "B-bro, no, s-sir, please, please don't hurt me!"
"You like Faith, right? I'll give her to you. Let's be friends. Want other women? Just say the word, and I'll get them for you. Just don't hurt me! I have money, I'll give you as much as you want! If you dare hurt me, my family won't let this go!"
Kyle remained cold. Peter felt he faced not a human, but an emotionless monster.
"Hold him down," Mike commanded.
Peter tried to escape, but two strong men restrained him. Kyle licked his fingers, and the golden needles sank into Peter's body.
Peter opened his mouth, but couldn't make a sound, not even a whimper. His condition was exactly as Kyle had described, terrifying him. He struggled with all his might, but Kyle raised his hand, sending another needle flying towards Peter. "Let him go."
The men released their grip, and Peter fell face-first onto the floor. His entire body was paralyzed; he couldn't move.
Kyle laughed coldly and looked at Peter's hands. Five golden needles pierced the fingertips of his left hand, then five more into his right. If Peter had his voice, the pain would have made him scream. As it was, he could only lie there, unable to move or speak.
Mike and the twenty men watching broke into a cold sweat. They saw the agony and hopelessness in Peter's eyes. The pain was unbearable; he wanted to kill himself, but couldn't. This was only the beginning. The following scenes caused Mike and the others to have severe physical reactions.
