Chapter 20

“Faith is my daughter. My heart breaks for her, but we had no other choice. We recognize our mistakes and will do the right thing now.”

Kyle was finally subdued, realizing the lie he’d spun had been discovered.

Anthony watched Kyle’s retreating figure and let out a huge sigh of relief. It felt as if he’d been standing before the demon lord himself. He was so terrified he’d almost wet his pants. If he’d gone against Kyle’s wishes, the Rivas family would have immediately come after them.

“B-But, what should we do now? What are we going to tell the Russo family?” Marta looked at Anthony.

“Stop stuttering! I’m a businessman; I don’t have to explain anything to anyone,” Anthony snapped. “How dare they beat Faith up so badly! They have no respect for us! We were tolerating each other before, but now there’s no need. We don’t have to worry about this anymore. With the Rivas family supporting Kyle, the Russo family is finished.”

Anthony was visibly excited. “With them supporting Faith, they’re also supporting the Catis family. Isn’t this better than the Russo family? Right now, we just have to follow Kyle’s instructions and take good care of Faith, ensuring she lacks for nothing. That will be good enough.”

With that, they walked into the hospital room, smiling and affecting the appearance of loving parents.

Kyle left the hospital. He was tired; he’d been up all night. But right now, he wanted revenge for Faith.

Mike was waiting by the entrance. Seeing Kyle, he opened the car door.

“Mr. Archer, the man from the Russo family is at a hotel. My men have him under control.”

Kyle nodded. “Very good. I’ll handle it.”

Mike ushered Kyle into the car before getting in himself.

Meanwhile, in Peter’s room, about twenty men stood around him, their expressions cold, cramming the spacious room. Peter, still hungover and embarrassed, lay on the bed beside two naked, terrified young women.

“Who are you? Do you know who I am? Get out, or I’ll break your legs!”

Ten minutes passed. The men stood with blank expressions, saying nothing, terrifying Peter.

“I’m Peter Russo, from the Russo family! Please, say something!”

The men remained silent. Peter was near tears. “Do you want money? My father heads the Russo family. Just don’t hurt me!”

They remained indifferent. When Mike respectfully led Kyle into the room, the twenty men bowed. Peter realized the person in charge had arrived. Seeing Mike’s familiar face, he relaxed slightly. Although his family had no partnership with Mike, there was no bad blood between them. With people of their status, basic decency was usually maintained in the absence of animosity.

“Mike, I’m from the Russo family. This must be a misunderstanding…” Peter tried to approach Mike in his shorts, but two men restrained him. “M-Mike, what do you want? I’ll give it to you! Just let me go!”

Mike didn’t look at Peter, merely lowering his head. “Mr. Archer, this is the man from the Russo family.”

Kyle sat on the sofa, lit a cigarette, and looked at the two young women. “Dress them and take them out for questioning. If there’s no justification, there’s no need to cause them trouble.”

Mike immediately obeyed, waving his hand to have his men take the girls away. Kyle hadn’t looked at Peter. He asked calmly, “So, you beat Faith up?”

His calm tone was chilling. Peter’s hair stood on end. He didn’t know Kyle, but hearing him mention Faith angered him. “Yes, I beat her up, but I was right! That little bitch betrayed me! She was my fiancée, but she slept with another man. Shouldn’t I have beaten her? I almost killed her, and she still wouldn’t tell me who the man was. What would you have done?”
