Chapter 23

When Belle saw Kyle standing there, she narrowed her eyes. “Kyle, you’re getting ahead of yourself. You weren’t satisfied with beating up my brother, but you even attacked my mother? Don’t you think I deserve an explanation?”

Kyle shook his head. “There’s nothing to explain. I beat them up. You called me here for revenge. You can start now; you don’t need to say unnecessary things.”

“But I’ll remind you that if you want to fight me with those four people behind you, it won’t be enough.”

Belle frowned at Kyle’s arrogant statement. Even now, he was making concise statements.

Belle forced down her anger. “She’s my mother. Regardless of whether she was right or wrong, you had no right to touch her. However, I invited you here because I want you to understand the gap between us. Only then will you understand how average and helpless you are. Otherwise, you’ll keep causing trouble for me.”

Kyle was mildly irked. Who was really causing trouble and overstepping their boundaries? There was a gap between them, but Belle had mistaken who was on the lower end.

Belle had already gotten into the car and saved a seat for Kyle, who didn’t hesitate to take it. Their destination and purpose were unimportant to him.

In the car, Belle crossed her legs and mocked, “Kyle, old Kyle, don’t you know that visiting Faith yesterday almost got her killed?”

“I did visit Faith yesterday.”

Belle’s expression changed at the nickname. Kyle’s use of a nickname revealed an intimacy that ignited fury in Belle’s heart. However, she suppressed it. “That’s a sweet nickname. Apparently, your relationship isn’t as simple as it seems. You two must have done…everything.”

Kyle didn’t answer, turning his head away. He couldn’t be bothered to answer such questions, but Belle saw it as an admission of guilt. This increased her misunderstanding and anger. She felt betrayed, as if her favorite toy had been stolen.

“Ha, I misjudged you. I thought you were honest, but you’re shameful.”

Kyle narrowed his eyes. “We’re divorced. You said we shouldn’t cause each other trouble. You invited me here, saying I’d be a coward if I didn’t come. But when I did, you insisted on talking about useless things. Belle, how have I never realized how hypocritical you are?”

His words silenced Belle. Her face flushed. After a few seconds, she said through gritted teeth, “What you do is none of my business. I only pity Faith.”

“When you were intimate, did you consider Faith’s position? You’re selfish. Your beloved Faith was beaten so badly she’s in the hospital.”

Belle’s eyes were fixed on Kyle’s face, waiting for a reaction of shock or pain. However, he remained leisurely. “Noted,” Kyle shrugged casually.

Belle was stunned. Didn’t Kyle hear her?

Belle’s voice was low. “Kyle, do you think I’m joking? Faith is in the hospital because of the beating she took, a beating she received because of your meetings with her! Do you understand?”

Kyle only nodded, without further reaction. His coldness made Belle’s words seem insignificant.

“You’re unforgivable, Kyle! Faith loves you so much. She was beaten by her fiancé because of you, but you don’t care. You’re cold-blooded and irresponsible.”

Kyle narrowed his eyes at Belle’s barrage of accusations. “Why are you saying this? To make me angry? What does my relationship with Faith have to do with you? I’m here to see what you had planned. Stop this meaningless talk.”
