Chapter 24
Kyle's attire irked Belle, but she was also shocked. Before this, he had been the perfect gentleman. His personality was gentle and calm; whenever she criticized him, he would smile and apologize quietly. But now, he was indifferent to everything. No matter how she tried to provoke him, he remained cool. It was as if nothing could stir the slightest emotion.
“However, I can tell you this: I've already dealt with the person who harmed Fay,” he said. “You won't have anything to say about that now, right?”
Belle's anger increased. She would have understood if he had only visited Fay, but taking care of her attacker was unbelievable. Peter had nearly beaten Fay to death; Kyle alone couldn't handle him. Any of Peter's men could easily defeat Kyle.
“You keep talking big, Kyle. I'm not going to waste any more time with you,” Belle said. “As I said before, I asked you to come so you could see the gulf between us.”
The car stopped at the entrance of Kedonia's most famous building. This was the most luxurious area in Kedonia; people earning less than ten thousand dollars a month wouldn't dare set foot here. This was the Sky Achiever Tower.
Belle exited the car, her back to the building's entrance. She smiled. “Kyle, if you haven't lost your mind in prison, you should remember this place.”
How could Kyle forget? It was the luxury shopping mall owned by Heavens Group. The Sky Achiever Tower's annual profits reached tens of billions of dollars. It sold everything imaginable; luxury goods were everywhere. As long as one had the money, they could buy anything they wanted, although the prices were extremely high. One needed at least a few million dollars to even consider shopping there.
There was a rumor in Kedonia that the first step to true success was shopping at Sky Achiever Tower.
“What do you want?” Kyle asked, a little fed up but remaining expressionless.
The corners of Belle’s mouth lifted. “Many times we passed the Sky Achiever Tower, but never went in. We were poor then, lacking self-esteem. We didn't even dare look at it.”
“Kyle, that was our life together. But I can tell you, you’ll still be gazing at this place from afar, while for me, it’s just a regular shopping trip.” With that, Belle turned and walked away, her steps confident.
Kyle shook his head. The company that owned Sky Achiever Tower was Heavens Group. He still held many of its shares, a gift from Mr. Khan Senior. From a certain perspective, besides Sky Achiever Tower, Heavens Group itself could be considered his property.
He looked at Belle's back. Her confidence and pride spoke of her success. However, that had nothing to do with him. His intentions hadn't changed; he was here to see what Belle had planned.
They arrived at a luxury handbag store. Belle entered with her head held high. A staff member immediately bowed and welcomed her. “Ms. Cotton, please come in. Those in the back, Ms. Cotton is here; quickly make some tea for her.”
Belle ignored them and turned to Kyle, a cruel smile on her face. “The cheapest handbag here costs at least ten thousand dollars. Many cost over a hundred thousand, even a million. Kyle, you'll never appreciate things like this.”
Kyle shrugged. “Isn't it just a container for things? These million-dollar bags can't hold up as well as a regular basket.”
Mocking expressions appeared on Belle’s face and the faces of the shop staff. How could he compare a luxury item to a basket? He was utterly unsophisticated.
Belle smiled. “Hehe. Your words reveal your ignorance. You don't understand what it means to have something that represents your societal status. I’m taking this handbag. Wrap it up for me.”
Belle pointed at a random handbag and said, “I’ll pay with my card.”
The staff member’s eyes lit up, and she quickly processed the transaction.
