Chapter 29
The number-one Seal of Heavens card, used to punctuate Snow White's arrival, fanned outward like a ripple. It was just as Kyle thought. When the card was activated, the entire Heavens Group board was agitated. That card represented Moses, but everyone knew Moses wouldn't be able to use it, making the identity of the user all the more mysterious.
However, one thing was certain: the card's current owner knew Moses's whereabouts. And that owner must be the person to whom Moses had gifted his shares—the owner of more than half of Heavens Group, the person who could decide its future!
At the Heavens Group elders' meeting room, no one could remain idle after the card's activation. One elder and more than ten high-ranking members—all middle-aged or older and from Moses's close family—were present. A white-haired but lively old man in the main seat said excitedly, "The number-one Seal of Heavens card was activated, meaning Mr. Khan Senior's heir has appeared! I'm going to Kerdonia to look for them. All of you will stay here to guard Mr. Khan Senior's property. If anyone tries to take advantage of this, you're authorized to take extreme measures." Everyone nodded.
"Don't worry, Mr. Barton Senior. We won't let that undeserving son from the Khan family take the product of Mr. Khan Senior's blood, sweat, and tears. We'll wait for you to return."
Aiden Barton nodded. "I'll leave now; time is precious. However, he must have also received news of this. He'll act soon. Remember, even though Heavens Group belongs to the Khan family, its true allegiance is to Mr. Khan Senior. We just need to remember these words and ignore everything else."
With that, Aiden dismissed everyone. He boarded his private plane and headed for Thalarea.
Just as Aiden predicted, the Khan family had also sent people to Kerdonia to track Kyle down. However, their intentions differed. Aiden was going to meet Kyle and offer support; the Khan family was going to threaten him and force his submission.
Kyle returned home to find two men at the entrance. One stood aside; the other squatted, smoking a cigarette. The standing man, scholarly looking in gold-rimmed glasses, appeared gentle but his eyes held a vicious glint. The squatting man, at least seven feet six inches tall, looked like a small mountain, powerfully built and covered in scars. He was intimidating.
Kyle knew these men from his imprisonment. He'd done them great favors, earning their loyalty.
When they saw Kyle, the scholarly-looking man kicked the other. "Meatball, Mr. Archer is here! Stand up and act presentable!"
"Damn you, Little Four-Eyes! Harrison Hayes became Mr. Archer's follower an hour before you, so show some respect!"
"Believe it or not, I'll kill you if you call me Little Four-Eyes again! My name's Julian James!"
"Oh, looking for a fight?"
Kyle approached, smiling and patting Harrison on the shoulder. "Even after a year, you two are still fighting like old times."
Julian bowed respectfully. "Mr. Archer."
Harrison stood beside Kyle, complaining, "Mr. Kyle, doesn't Little Four-Eyes deserve a beating?"
Kyle smiled contentedly. "You've both worked hard."
Harrison scratched his head, laughing nervously. "It's nothing, sir. We just hope you're satisfied with our work this past year."
