Chapter 35

“Mike, if the Russo family finds out about all this, they’ll definitely target Kyle. Will he be in danger?” Faith asked.

Mike chuckled. “Don’t worry. If the Russos make a move, the Rivas family will handle it. Right now, we haven’t dealt with the Russos because Mr. Archer hasn’t given us the go-ahead; otherwise, the Russo family wouldn’t even exist anymore.”

With Mike’s reassurance, Faith felt more at ease. The Rivas family’s power and influence were more than enough to deal with the Russos effortlessly.

After finishing his statement, Mike left without further delay.

Anthony smiled. “Kyle has done so much for you. His feelings for you are genuine. Once you’ve recovered, you must thank him properly and spend more time with him. It’ll be good for both you and our family.”

Faith didn’t need Anthony to tell her that she wanted to spend more time with Kyle. Being home with him was almost like living out her dream; otherwise, she wouldn’t have risked her life just to see him. But hearing her parents say this still made her uncomfortable. She understood exactly what they were thinking.

“Dad, Mom, I don’t want you to take advantage of Kyle’s feelings for me. You’ve seen his temper—if he gets upset, I’m not sure I can calm him down.”

“Don’t worry, Faith,” Anthony said with a sly grin. “I promise we won’t interfere in your relationship with Kyle. But you know, when our family faces tough times, it wouldn’t hurt to ask him for a little help, right? A little help here and there wouldn’t be too much, would it? After all, this is a crisis for our family. You can’t just ignore it, can you?”

Faith sighed, reluctantly nodding in agreement. She knew there wasn’t much else she could do.

The next day, after drinking late into the night with Harrison and Julian, Kyle woke up with a splitting headache. The most frustrating part was that Harrison had insisted they go for a massage afterward. If Kyle hadn’t feigned anger and refused, there was no telling what nonsense Harrison might have dragged him into. While Kyle managed to avoid it, Julian wasn’t so lucky—he was carried off by Harrison.

Kyle rubbed his temples as he got out of bed. After washing up, he rummaged through his wardrobe and found a decent shirt. After putting it on and combing his hair in front of the mirror, he thought he looked presentable.

Just then, a delivery from Sky Achiever Tower arrived—a package containing the Snow White Love set he had purchased the previous day. Kyle opened the box, took a quick look, and nodded in satisfaction. He thought Faith would probably like it.

Tucking the jewelry into his pocket, he hailed a cab to the hospital. No one would have guessed that the plainly dressed Kyle was carrying a piece of jewelry worth a hundred million dollars.

Meanwhile, at Belle’s villa…

Belle stood before a full-length mirror, holding up two gowns and comparing them. Scattered around her were over a dozen other dresses she had already tried on. She had spent two hours just picking a dress and even more time selecting matching jewelry—it was clear how much importance she placed on tonight’s charity gala.

Chloe, watching from the side, couldn’t hide her envy as she admired Belle’s dazzling appearance.

“Belle, you’re stunning! Wearing this gown tonight, you’ll definitely be the center of attention!”

Belle’s lips curled into a proud smile as she gracefully waved her hand. “Take a photo of me and send it to Charles Cole. He can’t make it tonight, but he should at least…”

Jealousy and resentment flickered briefly in Chloe’s eyes, but she quickly masked it with a pleasant expression and took the photo for Belle.

“Belle, if Charles sees this picture, he’s going to be so mesmerized. If I were him, I’d hop on a plane right now just to see you!”

Belle laughed softly at Chloe’s flattery, lightly adjusting the necklace around her neck. She sighed.

“That Snow White Love set from Sky Achiever Tower yesterday was just so beautiful. It’s such a shame it’s so expensive. If I could have bought it, it would have paired perfectly with this gown. I’d outshine everyone tonight without question!”
