Chapter 43
Joe collapsed to the ground with a thud and rolled in pain. Kyle's expression was filled with indifference. "Since you have no respect for the law, think you can do anything you please because of your wealth, and disregard others' dignity and lives, I will show you what real justice looks like!"
He walked toward the door without a second glance at Joe, whose eyes were filled with hatred.
Kyle said, "Three days. In that time, I will make the Russo family lose everything. You can choose not to believe me, but it won't change the outcome. When that time comes, even if you beg for mercy on your knees, it won't matter. What goes around comes around. I am your reckoning, and I will seek justice on behalf of all those you have wronged." With that, Kyle left the room.
Kyle had no intention of killing Joe and the others. That would have been too easy. Only by stripping them of everything they prided themselves on could they truly understand the harm they had caused.
When Kyle returned to Faith's hospital room, she rushed over immediately. "Kyle, are you okay? Did they give you any trouble?"
Kyle chuckled lightly. "Of course not. Do I look injured? The Russo family won't dare to trouble you again."
Faith wasn't listening to Kyle. Instead, she checked him for injuries. When she was certain he was fine, she threw herself into his arms and wrapped her arms tightly around his waist.
Anthony and Maria left the room silently, giving Faith and Kyle some privacy.
Faith didn't say a word. She held onto Kyle tightly, unwilling to let go for a long time.
Kyle stroked Faith's hair with a gentle smile. "Didn't I just say I'm fine? You've already checked me over, so what's there to worry about? If you keep holding me like this, I'm afraid I won't be able to breathe."
Faith immediately released her grip, as if she had done something wrong. Her face flushed with embarrassment as she looked down, covering her face with her hands and muttering softly, "Oh dear, how embarrassing."
A few seconds later, Faith turned back and said seriously, "Kyle, if it weren't for you, I'm afraid I would be in hell right now. Thank you. Thank you for everything you have done for me. I'll never forget it."
If it weren't for Kyle, Faith would have been forced to marry Peter. Peter's character was, needless to say, deplorable, and Faith's future would have been miserable.
Kyle smiled gently and said, "You're so kind. Is this all it takes for you to feel happy? Your happiness may be just beginning."
At the mention of happiness, Faith's heart raced with excitement. She stole a look at Kyle. Her eyes were filled with love, but there were things she couldn't bring herself to say.
Kyle said calmly, "It's about time. Faith, go get changed. Let's head to the banquet."
At this point, whatever Kyle said was absolute for Faith. She would never disobey his wishes or argue with him. Kyle stepped out of the hospital room to leave Faith alone to change her clothes.
In the hallway, Anthony and Maria immediately approached him.
"Mr. Archer," Anthony said cautiously.
Kyle nodded. "The Russo family will no longer dare to threaten you. They won't have the capability to do so anymore. You don't need to worry about them seeking revenge."
Anthony's excitement was evident. "Yes. We owe it all to you, Mr. Archer! If it weren't for you, not only Faith but the whole Curtis family would have been ruined."
Maria also spoke up, "Mr. Archer, you are our savior! We don't even know how we can repay you."
The couple seized the opportunity to pledge their loyalty to Kyle.
Although Kyle felt no pity toward Anthony, he didn't like the man either. He couldn't forget how Anthony had pushed Faith into [The sentence is incomplete and needs context to be finished correctly.] They were only spouting niceties because they had seen Kyle's strength. If Kyle had been defeated, and Peter had won, they would have been fawning over Peter instead.
