Chapter 178: Panic and Plots
Sierra stifled her disgust and didn't throw away the whip in her hand, managing a forced smile as she suddenly asked, “Do you have any of those drugs that make people more compliant?”
Kasin raised an eyebrow. “Why? Is Mr. Yeager not cooperating?”
“You don’t need to worry about that!”
After a moment’s thought, Kason replied, “I don’t have any here, but I’ll ask around.”
Sierra lowered her eyelids, hiding the disappointment in her eyes. Kason remained on guard, not falling into any traps. They stopped talking and walked out together.
Parked at a safe distance, Mateo couldn't help but look at Jonathan with a gossipy gaze. “That whip looks pretty intense; she’s not really going to use it on you, is she?”
Jonathan didn’t respond, just twirled what looked like a ring on his finger. After a long pause, he finally said, “Remind me not to forget to gouge out his eyes.” Just thinking about Kason looking at Sierra that way made him want to gouge Kason’s eyes out right then. Mateo was speechless; he dared not speak further. Those close to Jonathan knew he had a fierce temper, and Mateo, having known him for so long, had never seen him this angry before. Mateo silently prayed for Kason.
As they left, Sierra’s eyes were still covered. At that moment, she was glad her face was hidden; it allowed her to conceal her true feelings.
Once outside, Kason’s words became less explicit. “Think about what I said today. You can discuss any hesitations with me.”
“Uh-huh!” Sierra responded, acknowledging him.
Just then, her phone rang. She answered it; Jonathan’s voice came through, instantly calming her racing heart.
“Why couldn’t I reach your phone? I’ve been trying to call you.”
“The signal’s bad over here,” Sierra replied.
“I just finished up here. Want me to pick you up at the hospital?”
After hanging up, some of the tension left Sierra’s body.
The car was quiet, so Kason heard Sierra’s conversation with Jonathan very clearly. Although he couldn’t see Sierra’s face, hearing her speak in such a soft tone with Jonathan made him uneasy again. He felt anxious about the real Sierra, but this tender, intimate Sierra also made him reluctant to give up. He licked his lips, resolved that Sierra would be his.
The ride back was noticeably quicker than before, confirming Sierra’s suspicion that Kason had taken her on a detour earlier.
As the car stopped in front of the hospital, Sierra couldn’t wait to get out, but she heard Kason from behind. “Sierra, I’m waiting for your answer.”
Sierra didn’t respond but pushed the door open and stepped out. Then, Kason saw her walk toward another car. Jonathan got out, seeming to say something to Sierra. He clenched his jaw, finding Jonathan increasingly intolerable.
Chapter 178: Panic and Plots
After a moment’s thought, he dialed a number. “Who is Jonathan, exactly? I want to know what would happen if someone messed with him.” Kason spoke a few more words before hanging up. The person on the other end was Shane, who snickered after the call ended. Mess with Jonathan? That was interesting. If someone wasn’t afraid to die, then he was more than happy to watch the drama unfold. Looking at a photo of Sierra and Jonathan embracing, Shane’s eyes cooled, and he crumpled the picture and tossed it into the trash.
He made another call. “Hello, it’s me! Yes, send Denise over to my place when it’s time.”
After hanging up, Sierra, now inside Jonathan’s car, finally relaxed completely, only then feeling the sweat that had soaked her clothes. She was about to speak when Jonathan leaned over, his kiss full of displeasure and punishment. Perhaps because of their previous experiences, this time Sierra wasn’t surprised. It was only after Jonathan had vented his anger that he released her. Then he took out disinfectant wipes and meticulously cleaned her hands. Once, twice, three times. Jonathan showed no signs of stopping, and Sierra’s hair stood on end.
