Chapter 131  After sending her message, Lemira didn’t receive a reply from him. She stared at their chat history, feeling that something had changed yet couldn’t quite put her finger on it.  It seemed she had grown accustomed to having Orion by her side.  During the previous life when she felt utmost hopeless and in distress, it was Orion who had been there for her, shielding her from the storm outside with an umbrella. He had been both a mentor and a friend, and her feelings for him had gradually evolved.  In his absence these past few days, Lemira found herself restless and longing to see him. Recognizing the oddity in her emotions, she decided to go out and buy some things for a distraction. After she bought some snacks, a car honked twice. She turned to see Lucian. Her expression became slightly indifferent, “Are you keeping tabs on me?”  “Lemmy, this is Lyria, finding you was just a matter of time,” Lucian’s gaze was complex. It hadn’t been easy to locate Lemira. That  chool doctor indeed had a mysterious background.  Lemira eyed him warily, “What do you want to express?”  “Lemmy, I mean no harm. The exam results are coming up, and I care about you. Choosing your college is crucial after all.”  Lemira remembered how in her past life, Lucian had agreed to Alaric’s suggestion, asking her to apply to the same mediocre college as Evelina. A tinge of scoff showed on her face, “There’s no need. I can handle it myself.”  “Lemmy, don’t be stubborn at such a critical time. Don’t gamble your future away, okay?” Lucian blocked her path as if to impart some wisdom, “I’ve even asked a teacher to help you and Eve with your applications.”  “Enough, don’t you feel it annoying?”  Lemira could no longer hold back, “Lucian, do you ever listen to other people’s words? Or is it hard to comprehend what I just said? I hate it when you guise your manipulation as concern!”  Lucian seemed hurt, his face turning pale, “I–I didn’t mean it like that.”  “That’s great if you don’t mean that. Keep your distance!” Lemira turned to leave, but suddenly heard a thump behind her. Lucian had collapsed.  Lemira stood there, hesitant about if she should go over there. The driver, helping Lucian up, exclaimed to Lemira, “The boss has had stomach issues for a while and refuses to go to the hospital, I’m worried it might turn serious.”  Noticing the blood on Lucian’s lips, she walked over impatiently and helped him into the car with the driver.  As she was about to leave, Lucian gripped her hand tightly, pleading weakly, “Lemmy, don’t go. I’m wrong, really.”  Feelings conflicted, Lemira replied, “Just go to the hospital.”  “Lemmy, can you stay with me?” Lucian wouldn’t let go of her hand, his eyes filled with a plea.  The driver urged, “Ms. Langston, please accompany him. His condition cannot be ignored anymore.” Eventually, Lemira was pushed in the car by the driver. She sat beside him silently, her face stern.  Lucian managed a smile, “Lemmy, it’s been a while since we had a proper talk.”  She responded coldly, “Isn’t Evelina there for you? You don’t need me at all.”  It had always been this way.  Coughing up blood, Lucian insisted, “It’s not the same. You’re different from Eve, we are siblings; you’re the most important to me.” Unable to bear the sight, Lemira handed him a tissue.  Chapter 132
