Chapter 218  The car pulled up outside the Langston family mansion.  Orion glanced over, “Need me to come with you?”  “No, I can handle it myself. I’ll call you if anything comes up.”  Seeing Orion waiting outside eased Lemira’s nerves considerably. She stepped out of the car and walked up to the door typing in the password, only to find it incorrect  A sarcastic smile played on Lemira’s lips. She pressed the doorbell, and soon, the butler walked out.  Lemira let out a half–smile, “When did the password change?”  The butler stood by the door, his expression frigid, “Lemira, Mr. Asher Langston has instructed that without his permission, you are not to step foot inside the Langston house! The password has been changed to Ms. Sterling’s birthday!  Lemira recalled a recent incident involving faulty school supplies, likely the butler’s doing.  In her past life, he had always sided with Evelina, spreading defamatory rumors about her to her brothers!  Lemira kicked the door open, “This house was bought by my parents. I’m the only one who decides if I don’t want to come back. You better remember your place as a servant!”  Her tone was icy. Without another word, she strode inside.  The butler, surprised by Lemira’s drastic changes, hurried after her, “Lemira, I’m merely following Mr. Asher Langston’s orders.”  Lemira entered the foyer, while Lucian was coming down the stairs; his face lightened up the moment he saw her “Lemmy, you’re back! 1 had the kitchen prepare some of your favorites. How about we have dinner together? It’s been a while since we last ate together”  “No need. Where’s my offer of admission?”  Lemira’s demeanor was cold, not showing the slightest hint of friendliness.  Lucian gave a pained smile, “It’s in the study. Come with me, I’ll get it for you.”  As they went upstairs, Lucian detoured to her old room, “Lemmy, your room’s been restored to how it was. Eve moved back to her room too. Let me know if there’s anything about the room you feel unsatisfied with, and I have it taken care of  Lemira glanced at the room she once occupied. Her expression remained neutral, “It’s unnecessary. I won’t be coming back anyway”  Lucian sighed, “This was the house our parents bought, your princess room they left you after all. It will always be yours; no one can take that from you.”  Lemira turned towards the study. “Let’s focus on what matters.” She was not one to be swayed by small gestures anymore. Lucian produced an envelope, “You’re amazing, getting into Orvin University. Mom and Dad would’ve been proud if they knew.” Don’t use our parents as an excuse. It only makes me sick.*  Lemira glanced at the envelope only to find it had been opened, her expression darkened, “Why did you open my mal?” “Lemmy, I didn’t open it. I knew it was your offer of admission; it should have been your moment.”  Lemira handed the envelope to Lucian, “It clearly shows it’s been opened? Are you blind?”  “Zack, come over here!”  Lucian, noticing the tampering, felt it weird too. He hadn’t opened the envelope.  The butler, upon arrival, was confronted by Lucian’s stem inquiry, “Who else entered the study and touched this mail?”  The butler took a glance at the envelope, “Mr. Lucian Langston, it’s just an offer from a university. As long as the content’s intact, what’s the harm?”  Lemira’s gaze turned icy, “Did you open it?”  “I was just curious about what was inside, so I opened.”  Lemira didn’t buy the butler’s explanation for a second. It had Evelina written all over it!  She turned to look at Lucian, “Check the surveillance.”  She was hell–bent on settling this today!
