Chapter 249

Lemira was indeed thinking exactly that. She was certain what drug had been used, thanks to Evelina and Susanna. If it had been any other man, she would rather have died. Gripping his shirt tightly, she asked, "Do you have a girlfriend?"

"No, never have."

Orion felt Lemira's heavy breathing. With empathy, he wiped tears from the corner of her eyes. "You're still young," he said gently, "don't just give yourself away so easily!"

"But I like you!"

Finally, Lemira voiced her true feelings. She leaned in, kissing his lips; her move clumsy yet cautious. Orion's palms grew hot. He sighed, knowing she was acting under the influence of the drug. He secured her head, deepening the kiss. His approach was fierce, mirroring his dominating personality, as he took control of the pace. Lemira soon slumped powerless into his embrace, her cheeks flushed.

Orion's gaze was intense as he gently brushed her reddened, moist lips. Meeting his gaze, Lemira cast aside all reason. She pushed him down, hands trembling as they pressed against his chest. Orion's hands circled her waist, the touch holding him in the moment. His eyes burned with passion. "Lemira," he asked, "are you sure you won't regret this?"

"I won't regret it!"

She was resolute. After all, he didn't have a girlfriend. She wanted to act on impulse, just this once.

Orion flipped them over, pinning her in his arms. His breath was hot, his voice hoarse. "Silly girl," he said, "I don't know what to do with you!"

Lemira was too nervous to speak. All her courage had been spent. Orion's hands seemed magical as he covered her eyes, whispering in her ear, "There's another way, aside from this."

Lemira was curious. Suddenly, Orion lifted her and walked into the bathroom, placing her in the bathtub. The next second, Lemira was drenched in cold water. Her teeth chattered. "Orion!"

"I'm here!" Orion knelt before her, his voice gentle. "I'll always be here."

Lemira clutched his hand, her eyes closed, trying to process everything. With him by her side, she no longer felt alone. That night felt particularly long. She had mustered the courage to be with the man she loved, but he stopped her at the last minute.

The next day, as Lemira awoke, her mind was flooded with the previous night's events. Embarrassed, she pulled the blanket over her face, wishing she could disappear. Her body felt weak, drained of energy, as if she had been seriously ill. Yet, her mind was clear, vividly recalling everything. She had kissed Orion proactively, and he had kissed her back. Hiding under the covers, she touched her lips, savoring the memory. So that was what it felt like. Her cheeks heated up, recalling that while they hadn't gone all the way, they'd gone quite far.

After passing out in the bathtub, she now lay clean in bed, dressed by him. She felt shy, unsure how to face him. She wanted to check the time, reaching for her phone. Instead, her hand found something warm and slightly hard. Sneaking a peek, she realized it was Orion's abs! She quickly withdrew her hand. Maybe she should slip away while he was asleep?

"You awake?"

Orion's voice came from above her, crushing her hopes of escape. Lemira held her breath, unsure how to respond.
