Chapter 250

When she fell silent, Orion sensed something was amiss and impulsively pulled back the blanket. But Lemira clutched it closer, unwilling to face him yet.

Orion tugged again, but the blanket wouldn't budge. A playful smirk touched his lips. "Feeling shy now?" he teased. "Someone was quite the bold adventurer last night."

The teasing in his voice only increased Lemira's reluctance.

Orion rose. "I'm going to take a shower."

Lemira peeked from under the covers. Seeing him rise, she quickly grabbed a robe and slipped it on, her eyes lingering on his physique. Hmm, not too shabby, she thought, remembering last night's exploration of his abs—a pleasant memory.

Once the sound of running water filled the bathroom, Lemira emerged from under the covers, almost completely undressed.

Her cheeks flushed as she noticed her dress on the floor. She shuffled to the edge of the bed to retrieve it, only to find it stained with red wine, still carrying the night's unpleasant scent. This dress was unusable. What now? Was she supposed to run around naked?

The bathroom door opened. Orion, also in a robe, stepped out and saw Lemira by the bed, struggling with her dress.

He approached. "Don't bother with that dress. They'll send over a new one later."

Lemira's face turned crimson at his voice; she dove back under the covers, too embarrassed to look at him.

Orion walked to the bed, finding her shyness amusing. "Feeling alright? Anything hurt? I can call the doctor back."

"No need!" Lemira quickly refused, sitting up and meeting his gaze, feeling awkward. She looked down. "I'm fine now." The effects had worn off.

Orion touched her forehead. "Yeah, you're not hot anymore."

Lemira instinctively dodged his hand, stuttering, "I—I told you I'm fine."

He flicked her forehead, a bit forcefully. Frowning, he said, "Didn't I tell you not to drink at those bars? Don't you ever learn?" He hadn't been there last night; who knew what could have happened to her.

Recalling the previous night's ordeal, a chill ran through Lemira. Her voice hardened. "Now Evelina's hanging out with those wealthy kids, I can't believe they dared to go that far!" She had been too careless.

Orion's voice hardened. "How do you want to punish them?"

"It's not easy," she replied. "Those wealthy kids are from Orvin University's Business School—not exactly the kind of people you want to mess with." But she wasn't going to let it slide.

Orion felt a surge of protectiveness. "Just say the word." He would personally handle it for her, if she asked.

"It's really not necessary. I don't want you getting into trouble." The Business School kids had significant connections—something she couldn't handle alone, and she didn't want Orion involved.

Orion, seeing her thoughtful nature, reassured her, "You don't have to worry about that; it's not for you to think about."

"Orion, I know you want to stand up for me, but I've got a plan." Lemira looked at him earnestly. "I'm just glad it was you I ran into last night." She had other matters to attend to now, remembering his response to her confession the previous night.

Orion met her gaze, a hint of avoidance in his eyes.

Chapter 950

Just then, someone knocked. Orion quickly turned. "Let's get something to eat first."

The man walked to the door and opened it, revealing a woman.

"I need to talk to you," she said. "It's about my sister."

Sophia Sinclair stood nervously at the doorway, attempting to see into the room, but Orion subtly blocked her view.
