Chapter 256
Lemifa sauntered to the computer, her slender fingers dancing across the keyboard. She quickly wrote a piece of code and injected it into the forum post, which rapidly began collecting comments based on specific keywords.
“All those who participated in spreading rumors will have their phones locked permanently. They can only unlock them by posting an apology,” Lemira stated coolly, her tone dripping with arrogance.
Susanna scoffed. “Lemira, you’re incredibly arrogant. You think your little piece of code can actually do that?”
“Damn, why did my phone just die?” someone exclaimed.
“Mine too! I’m stuck on this post and can only publish one thing; everything else is frozen,” another voice added.
Susanna, skeptical, checked her phone to find it unresponsive. Fuming, she confronted Lemira. “What did you do? Unlock my phone! By what right do you lock my phone?”
Lemira chuckled. “So, does this mean I win our bet?”
Susanna’s expression froze. She realized Lemira had succeeded. The classroom atmosphere shifted dramatically.
Lemira, casually resting her hand on the podium, fixed her gaze on Susanna. “So, which will it be first? Kneeling or apologizing?”
Susanna stepped back. “Why should I kneel or apologize to you?”
“So you’re backing out of the bet?”
Susanna was speechless. Evelina intervened. “Lemira, you might not have lost, but Ms. Sinclair didn’t lose either. She managed to write the code too, so it’s a tie!”
“Yes, it’s a tie!” someone agreed.
Susanna refused to kneel or apologize.
Lemira snorted. “Sounds like a sore loser to me.”
Evelina continued. “Lemira, we’re all classmates. There’s no need to be so confrontational. Ms. Sinclair challenging you was natural, considering it’s the first day of class. Who would have believed you knew so much?”
Lemira clapped. “Bravo, Ms. Sinclair; your lapdog certainly can talk.”
Evelina’s face soured.
Susanna raised an eyebrow. “Jealous much? Cut the crap and unlock everyone’s phones!”
“As I said, unlocking is simple: post an apology, and once it’s approved, the phone will unlock,” Lemira replied impassively.
Susanna refused to apologize. She turned to the teacher. “You’ve seen what Lemira’s done. It’s excessive. Please delete her program.”
“Sure,” the teacher said, glancing at Lemira. “You clearly have talent, but it needs to be used responsibly.”
Lemira smiled enigmatically. Her code wasn't easily cracked!
As the teacher attempted to dismantle Lemira’s program, it became clear she couldn't break through. Surprise, then seriousness, crossed the teacher’s face as she realized the futility of her efforts.
Susanna grew anxious. “Why aren’t our phones unlocked yet?”
The teacher, visibly embarrassed, admitted, “I… I can’t unlock them!”
“What? You can’t unlock them either? How is that possible?” Susanna exclaimed in disbelief. How could Lemira be so skilled?
The teacher adjusted her glasses, realizing she had underestimated Lemira’s capabilities.
Evelina’s phone was also locked, containing important data, but she refused to apologize publicly. Standing, she accused Lemira. “Do you realize what you’re doing is illegal?”
Lemira spun a piece of chalk, a sly smile on her lips. “And so is slandering me.”
Just then, police officers entered the classroom. Susanna’s eyes lit up. “Perfect timing. Lemira’s here. Take her away!”
