Chapter 255
Facing Evelina's skepticism, Lemira was unsurprised. "You're as dumb as a post," she retorted coolly, "and you think you have the right to question me?"
"Don't change the subject, Lemira," Evelina snapped, her face crimson with anger. "You couldn't answer the question. You probably googled it on your phone and wrote it down. That doesn't make you a genius!"
Susanna, too, had been shocked, initially believing Lemira's intelligence. It was all a charade.
Evelina, assuming a posture of moral superiority, declared, "Lemira, I'm calling you out for your own good, to prevent further mistakes. Lying is wrong, after all."
Lemira burst into laughter. "Do you think everyone's as dim as you? Someone who scored zero on tests has no business lecturing anyone."
Evelina's face reddened further under the mocking stares of those around them. Susanna, though disdainful, didn't want Lemira to become overconfident. "Our Business School doesn't just focus on grades," she retorted, "something a country bumpkin like you wouldn't understand."
"For someone like you, calling others cheaters when you can't do anything yourself? Isn't that ironic?" Lemira countered.
Susanna stood abruptly. "Calling me a blockhead? I've had a top-tier education my whole life, something you'd only see on TV. You must be jealous!"
Lemira smirked. "If you're so brilliant, why don't you solve the problem?"
"Solving this problem is easy. We learn coding. If you really know this, writing a small program shouldn't be hard, right?" Susanna challenged.
The amusement in Lemira's eyes deepened. "You want to bet on it?"
"Yes! If you can write a program, it proves you can solve the problem. But if you lose, you kneel and apologize to the teachers and students for lying!"
Lemira noted Susanna's smug expression. "And what if you lose?" she asked calmly.
"I won't lose!" Susanna declared confidently, having already taken relevant courses.
Lemira raised an eyebrow. "Afraid to bet? Scared of losing?"
"Who says I'm scared? You're on!"
"Fine. If you lose, you'll kneel and apologize for slandering me!"
Lemira's boldness surprised everyone, including the teacher. Many doubted her decision to challenge Ms. Sinclair.
"Sadly, Lemira, you're bound to lose," someone muttered.
Confident, Susanna approached the podium. "Let's start with the school forum; write some redirect code."
She used the teacher's computer to open the school forum. The top post, however, was about Lemira being out all night, ostensibly seeking wealth. Susanna deliberately displayed this to everyone, aiming to discredit Lemira.
Quickly, Susanna wrote the code, opening the post and a photo of Lemira exiting a luxury car. The forum erupted in discussion about Lemira's night out.
Susanna gloated, "Lemira, care to explain why you were out all night, getting out of a luxury car?"
Whispers followed: "Was it her first time in such a car?" "And those designer clothes—did she earn them sleeping with men?"
Susanna's followers began jeering. Lemira remained impassive. "Spreading false rumors is legally actionable. Just because it's a luxury car doesn't mean I can't afford it!"
She detailed her various income streams, including streaming, her Maple Group salary, and project bonuses. Susanna laughed loudly. "Oh, come on, Lemira, you're just a hick, stop bragging."
"Lemira, do you even know how much that car costs? You've probably never seen that much money in your life!" another voice chimed in.
"Hicks will be hicks, bragging without a clue!"
Susanna continued to laugh, urging, "Your turn, Lemira. If you can't do it, apologize in advance. I might let you off..."
"You're the loser here," Lemira finished for her.
