Chapter 290

Lemira sipped her beverage, noticing Jackson and Clara watching her from across the room. A smirk played on her lips; she suspected their intentions.

Sure enough, Clara soon raised her hand. "Our team captain wants to challenge Lemira!"

Jackson remained silent, his smug expression speaking volumes.

Michel hesitated. "I'd personally recommend choosing someone else." Against Lemira, the entire base team wouldn't stand a chance.

"Why switch? The rules say we can pick any popular streamer, right? Or is Lemira too chicken to accept the challenge?" Clara taunted with a triumphant grin.

Lemira laughed. "Challenge accepted!"

Michel grabbed the microphone. "Well, if someone's looking to get schooled, let's get this game started."

Of all people, they had chosen the strongest!

Lemira sat down at the computer, noticing Jackson had gathered his team.

Jackson spoke up. "Didn't you say you'd take on our whole team by yourself? You bailed last weekend, and we don't know why. If you're scared now, just say so and forfeit!"

The streamers around Lemira erupted in laughter.

Jackson felt confused. This was a sure loss for Lemira!

One of the streamers behind Lemira chimed in, "Ms. Lemon, let me join in. I'd love to learn a thing or two from you."

"I've got this on my own." She didn't want to give Jackson and his crew any excuses. This time, she was determined to make Jackson admit defeat completely.

Despite Jackson's growing unease, he led his team into battle. One against five, the odds were against Lemira. Yet, she confidently chose the gunner class she excelled at.

Once the game began, Lemira secured the high ground. As Jackson's team advanced, she critiqued, "There are problems with your team's spread. Your vanguard is too far aheadโ€”easy pickings."

Jackson scoffed. "Cut the chatter."

But the next second, Lemira eliminated the vanguard with a single shot. Her lips curled into a cold sneer. "Look, told you so. Why didn't you take cover?"

Frustrated, Jackson turned to his fallen teammate. "Are you kidding me? Why didn't you dodge?"

"Hey, now's not the time for blame. You should be changing your strategy. I'm a gunner; close combat isn't my forte!"

Undeterred, Lemira eliminated the team's medic next. She continued, "Your assassin's next. No point in hiding; come out and try to take me down. How else will you win?"

The assassin panicked. "If I come out, I'm dead!"

"Correct. But you're dead if you hide, too. Found you, goodbye!"

Lemira eliminated the assassin. With each comment, she eliminated another of Jackson's team members, haunting them like a specter. Only Jackson remained, in utter despair, having underestimated Lemira's skill. Could it be she had never cheated?

Lemira approached Jackson and took him out, encountering almost no resistance.

Jackson stared at his screen, pale and sweaty. "This can't be happening!"

Clara screamed, "Lemira, you must have cheated again!" There was no way she was this good!

A smirk was plastered across Lemira's face. "Jackson, did you even check the guest list? Do you even know who Lemira is?"

Jackson stammered, "Wโ€“Whoโ€ฆ who is she, exactly?"

Could it be that Lemira was a gaming legend in disguise?
