Chapter 295

Lemira raised her hand, deflecting the soda can. It ricocheted, striking Dorian in the face.

“Damn it, my nose! Lemira, do you have a death wish?!” Dorian clutched his nose, tears welling from the pain.

Lemira turned, an image of innocence, and retorted, “You can curse my family, but not me.” She walked away. Dorian wanted to pursue her, but the pain in his nose was too intense.

“Dorian, who is Lemira? That hot streamer from PixelStage!”

“I just learned she’s SweetLemon, my idol! She was right here all along!”

“Oh man, does Lemira hate everyone from the Business School? Is it too late for me to drop out?”

Not everyone at the Business School disliked Lemira. Susanna had stirred the conflict, claiming Lemira looked down on them, leading to ostracization. But given Lemira's strength, perhaps she wasn't entirely wrong.

Dorian, however, was in a foul mood, especially after his confession of love had been rejected. He couldn't let that stand. He was determined to impress Evelina, to show Lemira what she’d missed. But first, he needed the hospital; his nose felt broken. Lemira, that violent woman, was nothing like the gentle Evelina!

Lemira went to class, taking her usual front-row seat. As classmates arrived, their views of her had shifted; her confrontation with the Business School students had been epic! Lemira sensed the change but remained unfazed. After class, she received a message from one of the girls. [Sorry, Lemira, I couldn’t fulfill my promise about the team captain position. It’s falling through.]

Lemira called immediately. “What happened? Lack of evidence?”

“There’s enough, but Jackson has the Sinclairs’ backing. I can’t compete. I’m giving up.”

Lemira’s eyes hardened. “Wait, I’ll come right over.”

Lemira went to see the girl. Seeing her red-rimmed eyes, Lemira asked, “What did they say?”

“The Sinclairs threatened my parents. If I don’t say the information is fake, they could lose their jobs, even face jail time. My sister is still in school; I can’t risk it.”

“Jackson got the Sinclairs involved?” Lemira recalled Jackson’s fawning over Susanna, assuming it was due to her Business School affiliation.

“The Sinclairs always invest in the base’s team operations. They also use the base’s funds for money laundering. As captain, Jackson knows about this.”

That explained the Sinclairs’ protection of Jackson.

Lemira said, “Pull back the documents for now. I have a plan.”

“Lemira, the Sinclair family isn’t someone you confront. Let’s drop it. I don’t want to involve you.”

“No, I’ve had issues with the Sinclairs for a while. It has nothing to do with you.”

Returning to her dorm, Lemira realized the Sinclairs used family as leverage. But as for her family? A little trouble wouldn’t hurt!

Approaching the dorm, she noticed a crowd, candles and flowers laid out. It seemed someone was planning a romantic gesture.

Lemira circled the crowd, but all eyes turned to her. Jackson, holding flowers, approached. Sensing his intention, Lemira felt a twitch in her temple. It couldn’t be what she thought, could it? These days, some people stooped incredibly low—scummy and overconfident!

Jackson, with a supposed charming smile, said, “Lemira, I’ve had a crush on you since we met. But I was too scared to confess, so I did things to make you angry, to get your attention. But I can’t hold it in anymore. I want to be honest. Will you be my girlfriend?”
