Chapter 304

Janice gave a nod. โ€œGuess Iโ€™ll head back then.โ€

Lemifa proceeded to the office alone. Upon entering, she found the dean and the supervisor already there.

The deanโ€™s tone was far from welcoming. โ€œLemira, you reported Jackson. Weโ€™d like to know if itโ€™s because of some loversโ€™ spat gone wrong, leading him to break into your dorm.โ€

โ€œEven if we had issues, it doesnโ€™t justify Jackson bribing the dorm keeper to sneak into a studentโ€™s room, not to mention his attempt at sexual assault. And itโ€™s not his first time doing something like this! You should be focusing on these crimes, instead of trying to paint it as a petty loversโ€™ quarrel!โ€

The dean raised his voice. โ€œMind your tone, Lemira! Weโ€™re just asking!โ€

But Lemira stood her ground firmly, armed with ample evidence and no intention to back down.

At that moment, Alaric barged into the office. โ€œThe one who needs to watch the tone is you! Lemiraโ€™s done nothing wrong. What gives you the right to mislead her and twist the narrative?โ€

Lemira turned to see Alaric, her eyebrows knitting together in confusion, thinking, โ€œWhyโ€™s he here?โ€

She coldly told Alaric, โ€œPlease leave the office.โ€

The dean pointed at Alaric. โ€œThis is not a place for outsiders. Please leave. This is the office; not anyone is allowed to enter.โ€

Alaric slammed on the desk. โ€œIโ€™m Lemiraโ€™s brother, her family. Why shouldnโ€™t I be here?โ€

Family? The dean was taken aback by his words. โ€œI thought Lemira was an orphan.โ€

The supervisor interjected. โ€œSir, Iโ€™ve told you before, sheโ€™s not an orphan.โ€

The dean was out of the loop during the last scandal on campus, which left him and the principal quite embarrassed.

โ€œWho said Lemiraโ€™s an orphan? Sure, our parents passed away early, but she still has brothers!โ€

The supervisor muttered, โ€œBut you werenโ€™t the one who came last time.โ€

โ€œThat was Lucian. Weโ€™re seven siblings!โ€

The deanโ€™s attitude softened considerably. โ€œMr. Langston, weโ€™re currently investigating the matter.โ€

Alaric, visibly angry, said to the supervisor, โ€œAfter what happened in the girlsโ€™ dorm, the school owes us an explanation. If Lemira hadnโ€™t been smart, last night could have ended horribly. Is this how you ensure student safety?โ€

The dean was left speechless, eventually offering a cautious apology. โ€œItโ€™s true the school has been negligent. Lemira is a victim here. Weโ€™ll clear this up, and youโ€™re free to go, Lemira.โ€

โ€œNot enough. We demand accountability!โ€

Lemira grew impatient. โ€œWhat are you thinking, Alaric, showing up here claiming to be my family? I have nothing to do with the Langston family!โ€

She turned to the dean. โ€œI have all the evidence. If the school tries to cover for Jackson, Iโ€™ll sue!โ€

The dean wiped away the sweat on his forehead. โ€œWhen did we say weโ€™d cover for Jackson? We were just trying to figure this thing out. Youโ€™re misunderstanding!โ€

Dealing with Lemira was no easy task. There was no other way they could think of.

Having got the outcome she desired, she left the office.

Alaric followed, cautiously saying, โ€œLucian sent me to back you up after hearing about it. Heโ€™s too ashamed to face you.โ€

โ€œEven without you, I wouldโ€™ve been fine! Your help was unnecessary. Donโ€™t bother linking me with your family again!โ€

Lemiraโ€™s tone was resolute.

โ€œLemira, you really think you couldโ€™ve handled this alone?โ€ Lemira saw Asher and Evelina approaching from the staircase, her scorn deepening.

Asher, his face stern and smelling of booze, warned, โ€œThat Jackson is backed by the Sinclairs! Do you realize the mess youโ€™ve gotten into?โ€

Ah, they were here to settle scores.
