Chapter 336

Lucian flew into a rage, grabbing Alaric by the collar. โ€œHave you lost your mind? Why on earth are you helping Evelina? Did you forget everything I told you?โ€

โ€œLucian, I regret it, okay? What do I do now?โ€ Alaric attempted a smile, but he couldnโ€™t even cry.

Lucian hadnโ€™t expected things to turn out this way. He let go of Alaric. โ€œIโ€™ll go find Asher!โ€ With that, Lucian stormed off to confront Asher and demand answers.

Meanwhile, Evelina stood to the side, unnoticed and uncared for, especially the wound on her forehead. The stark difference from the past, when her brothers would have overlooked everything just because she got hurt, made her uncomfortable. Why had things changed so much? She had even planned to use her injury as a ploy to win back Alaricโ€™s favor.

Evelina cautiously glanced at Alaric, intentionally revealing her wounded forehead. โ€œAlaric, I didnโ€™t mean what I said earlier.โ€ But Alaric, weighed down by his emotions, didnโ€™t even give her a glance as he walked away.

Evelina watched his retreating figure, her pitiful expression quickly turning into one of impatience. So much for her plan.

Adjusting her strategy, Evelina quickly called Dorian, her voice choked with feigned distress. โ€œDorian, Iโ€™m dying.โ€ Someone had to take the fall; otherwise, her suffering would be for nothing. With Lucian and Alaric changing, she had to look out for herself, and Dorian was her best bet. Naive and wealthy, and easy to manipulate. Once she married into the Draven family, squashing Lemira would be a piece of cake.

After class, Lemira and Janice headed to their teamโ€™s headquarters, gearing up to select the official team members. They were also planning to attend the finals at the stadium over the weekend.

Janice hesitated before speaking. โ€œYouโ€™re really outstanding, Lemira. Some people just donโ€™t have strong family ties.โ€

Lemira offered a smile. โ€œI stopped caring about the Langstons a long time ago.โ€ She had her own life now, a career, and friends. She no longer yearned for the so-called sibling affection.

A senior team member approached. โ€œLemira, finals tickets are tough to get. Scalpers are hiking up the prices.โ€

โ€œBuy them. If our club members pass the screening, they should all get to watch the match. Iโ€™ll cover the cost!โ€ Lemira was in high spirits; her AI project was about to hit the market, so this expense was nothing to her. She felt like a successful woman.

The senior member sighed. โ€œIโ€™ll try to get everyone to grab their tickets instead. We shouldnโ€™t feed the scalpers; itโ€™s too expensive. The team hasnโ€™t landed a sponsor yet, and weโ€™ll need funds for plenty of things in the future.โ€

Lemira took the hint and agreed, realizing she needed to work on getting sponsors. Michel had invited her to a post-finals gathering, which could be a perfect opportunity to find sponsors.

Leaving the headquarters, Lemira rubbed her arms and decided to head back to her dorm for some rest. Just as she was about to relax, her phone rang. Picking up, she was greeted by Asherโ€™s icy voice. โ€œLemira, how dare you sue your own family? Heartless!โ€

So, they were panicking now? Hmph, they mustโ€™ve received the lawyerโ€™s letter.

Lemira responded calmly, โ€œIโ€™ve already signed the disownment papers.โ€

โ€œAnd what does your signature mean? You were born a Langston, youโ€™ll die a Langston. If Mom and Dad knew youโ€™re even renouncing the Langston name, how heartbroken theyโ€™d be!โ€

Hearing this, Lemira sat up straight, her eyes cold and determined.
