Chapter 348

Lemira raised an eyebrow. โ€œFair enough. How about I give you all one more night to decide whoโ€™s going to take the fall?โ€

Asherโ€™s face turned pale instantly.

Lemiraโ€™s smile broadened. โ€œThat includes you, Asher. If youโ€™re willing to take all the blame, Iโ€™m all ears.โ€

Asher was speechless.

Lemira pushed his hand away forcefully. โ€œClearly, you donโ€™t want to face the music either, so why play the saint?โ€

โ€œLemira, in your eyes, am I just playing the saint? Iโ€™ve been doing all this for our family!โ€

โ€œOh, so if you take the fall and end up behind bars, Iโ€™ll just apologize, right? Wanna bet?โ€

Lemira chuckled, giving Asher a deep, meaningful look. She saw right through Asherโ€™s arrogance, his well-masked hypocrisy, and selfishness. She had laid it all out, yet he tried to guilt-trip her! Well, she wasnโ€™t going to play nice anymore.

This time, Asher remained silent, his expression so sour it could curdle milk. As Lemira turned and walked away with a swagger, Asher didnโ€™t follow. She had guessed right. All that talk about family bonds thicker than water? Just a facade.

Turning her head, Lemira ran into Orion, Thad at the staircase, and Matthew. She paused. โ€œYou all heard that, huh?โ€

Orion looked at her deeply, patting her shoulder. โ€œWell done. Letโ€™s head back to the lounge.โ€

Only then did Lemira realize they had overheard everything. She felt a bit awkward.

Back in the lounge with just the four of them, Matthew couldnโ€™t help but speak up. โ€œWhy did you say youโ€™d apologize to him? Why owe him an apology?โ€

Thad raised an eyebrow. โ€œItโ€™s strategy, donโ€™t you get it?โ€

Lemira smiled. โ€œI said it on purpose because I know him. He wonโ€™t take responsibility.โ€

Asher was an ambitious man, often resorting to underhanded tactics to keep Langston Group thriving in Orvin.

Matthew clearly didnโ€™t get it. โ€œBut why not just sue them or give them a good thrashing!โ€

โ€œLemon intentionally guilt-tripped them, let them taste their own medicine!โ€

Lemira nodded. โ€œExactly.โ€ Seeing their false masks torn away made her feel victorious. This was her revenge. Let them experience everything she had gone through in her past life.

Lemira handed the trophy back to Matthew. โ€œThanks for lending me your trophy; it really came in handy.โ€

โ€œBro, look at my trophy, isnโ€™t it awesome?โ€

Matthew grabbed the trophy, tossing it to Orion without thinking. Orion caught it and then threw it to Thad, as if the trophy were a hot potato.

Thad caught on fast. โ€œNot bad, Matt. Keep it up, and youโ€™ll do even better next time!โ€

Matthew glanced at Lemira. โ€œBut next year, Iโ€™ll be competing against my sister-in-law. Feel free to cheer for her!โ€

Lemira froze. Matthew called her sister-in-law?

Orion, hearing the term โ€œsister-in-law,โ€ his tone turned sharp. โ€œMatthew, what are you talking about?โ€

Realizing his slip-up, Matthew hurriedly backtracked. โ€œYou guys arenโ€™t together yet?โ€

Orionโ€™s expression grew tense. Thad stepped forward, covering Matthewโ€™s mouth. โ€œStop talking.โ€

If you spill the beans, itโ€™s going to cost your brother his life!

The room fell silent.

Kemira coughed awkwardly, her expression uneasy. โ€œYouโ€™ve misunderstood my relationship with Orion. Weโ€™re not like that.โ€

Orion looked up. โ€œIn your eyes, what are we?โ€
