Evelina nodded, her curiosity piqued. “What’s up? Why are you suddenly asking about this?”

Could it be that Dorian had developed an interest in Lemira? After all, Dorian’s initial interest was Lemira, and it was she who had deliberately snatched him away. Now, her sole hope was to marry into the Draven family and bear a son. She couldn’t let Lemira snatch away this golden opportunity.

Evelina, feeling a bit sour, asked, “Have you started taking an interest in Lemira again?”

“That wild woman, Lemira? I’d have to be blind to fall for her. But what’s the full name of that school doctor? It’s something Everhart!”

Now that his cousin had stepped in to help, could it be that the doctor was connected to the Everhart family? His cousin was tight with the Everhart heir, almost like brothers. There might be some connection.

Evelina replied, “I’m not sure about the full name, but I can ask a classmate to dig around our high school for information.”

Susanna scoffed, “Dorian, I know what you’re thinking, and it’s just not possible.”

“Just curious, that’s all. It seemed odd to me.”

“Lemira, a nobody from nowhere, what makes her think she can connect with the Everharts? It’s probably just a coincidence with the name.”

Evelina then realized Dorian’s point, nodding in agreement. “Right, if that school doctor really was from the wealthy Everhart family, he wouldn’t be working at a college as a poorly paid doctor. I heard he doesn’t even own a house and is living off Lemira’s credit card.”

“Guess I’m overthinking it then.”

Hearing Evelina put it that way, Dorian felt there was some logic to it. After all, the Everharts weren’t the only wealthy family in Orvin. Soon, Dorian would regret his assumptions deeply.

At that moment, Susanna pulled out her phone to binge-watch a series: “My crush’s new show is out, and he looks so handsome.”

Evelina, spotting the screen, felt a burst of happiness: “Caspian’s new series is finally streaming.”

“You know him?”

Evelina quickly nodded. “Yes, Caspian’s brother. We’ve been close since we were kids, and he even said he’d help me break into showbiz.”

Susanna’s attitude softened significantly. “So, when can you arrange a dinner with Caspian? I’m really into him.”

Caspian Langston was exactly her type.

Evelina readily agreed. “No problem, consider it done. Caspian’s been away filming, but now that his new series is out, he’ll be back soon.”

Seeing Susanna so happy, Evelina felt much better. Because of Lemira, Susanna had also been cold towards her. But now that Susanna was a fan of Caspian, things would be easier. If Caspian supported her upon his return, she wouldn’t have much to worry about. But she had to be more cautious in the future, to prevent Lemira from exploiting any opportunity to stir up trouble between her and the Langston brothers. After all, she hoped to marry into the Draven family and needed the Langstons’ support.

During class, Lemira received a notification from the Maple Group’s work chat: [Meeting at 3 p.m.]

Lemira glanced at it and replied, [Got it.]

The team leader tagged her, [Can you make it this afternoon if you have no classes?]

[Yes, I’m free this afternoon. I’ll be there on time.]

Being a part of the company, she would attend the meeting if she could, especially after the recent plagiarism incident. Although it resulted in the Langston Group being labeled as plagiarists and losing their bid, there were probably still rumors about her connection to the Langstons.

After class, Lemira told Janice, “I need to head to the company for a bit. Let me know if anything comes up at school.”
