Chapter 404

Matthew walked alongside her. โ€œLetโ€™s ditch this place; itโ€™s pretty dull.โ€

Lemira glanced at Matthewโ€™s sunglasses. โ€œYou always wear those shades; is it some kind of fashion statement?โ€

โ€œYeah, itโ€™s all about looking cool!โ€

Matthew awkwardly adjusted his sunglasses, striking a pose. โ€œCool, huh?โ€

Janice played along. โ€œSuper cool!โ€

They all headed out. Lemira and Janice caught a cab and left. Matthew stood there, waving goodbye until the cab was out of sight.

Michel approached, with a complex look. โ€œDude, donโ€™t tell me youโ€™re falling for her?โ€

Matthew had been sticking close to Lemira all night, like a knight in shining armor. It was obvious to anyone that Matthew was acting out of the ordinary.

โ€œWhat are you talking about? Sheโ€™s my brotherโ€™s girl!โ€

โ€œYour brotherโ€™s girl? I knew I wasnโ€™t wrong back in Lyria. It really was your brother!โ€

Michel had thought he was mistaken.

Matthew, curious, โ€œWhatโ€™s he doing in Lyria?โ€

โ€œIโ€™m not sure, just saw him with Lemira once and wasnโ€™t sure it was him.โ€

Now it was pretty clear; it had to be Orion.

Michel asked, puzzled, โ€œBut what about the engagement rumors with Ms. Sinclair that have been going on for years, are those false?โ€

โ€œIf it wasnโ€™t true, how could it have lasted so long?โ€

โ€œItโ€™s all talk, my mom getting ahead of herself. My brother never acknowledged it, thinking time would make him acceptโ€”impossible.โ€

Matthew knew his brother well; once he made up his mind, nothing could change it.

Suddenly, Michel removed Matthewโ€™s sunglasses. โ€œWho gave you that black eye?โ€

Matthew quickly snatched his sunglasses back. โ€œWho else but my brother?โ€

Using sparring as an excuse to check if Iโ€™ve gotten rusty, then he hits me!

At that thought, Matthew slapped his forehead. โ€œI almost forgot something important.โ€

He needed to reveal his brotherโ€™s identity to Lemira! Itโ€™s always his brother hitting him for no reason.

But Lemira was already gone, so Matthew decided to message her: โ€œI have something important to tell you. Message me when you get home.โ€

He had to tell her today.

Lemira, in the cab, saw Matthewโ€™s message, curious about what he wanted to say.

Janice hesitated. โ€œCaptain, I think he might have feelings for you.โ€

โ€œYou noticed too?โ€

Chapter 404

โ€œItโ€™s hard not to; he was all over you tonight, smoothing things over for you, making sure no one bothered you.โ€

Leinira felt a headache coming on, but she didnโ€™t have feelings for Matthew. Although she wasnโ€™t sure if Matthew was the person from her past life, she just didnโ€™t feel it.

Was this the so-called online romance dying in the light of day?

The cab first stopped outside the school; Lemira dropped Janice off, then headed to her apartment. But as Lemira got out, a sleek black car pulled up beside her.

Caspian stepped out. โ€œLemira, so you live here. Did Thaddeus buy this place for you?โ€

Her expression darkened instantly. โ€œWho told you to follow me?โ€

She didnโ€™t want anyone from the Langston family to know where she lived.

โ€œLemira, I know you left home in a huff, needing money, wanting to prove yourself, but you canโ€™t let yourself be kept by a man! Youโ€™re coming back with me today!โ€

Temira defiantly replied, โ€œYou can try.โ€

Caspian signaled, and a van pulled up, disgorging a group of bodyguards who immediately surrounded Lemira. โ€œLemira, listen to me, donโ€™t go down the wrong path.โ€
