Chapter 403
Lemira glanced at Caspian, standing in front of her, and snapped, โGet lost!โ
But Caspian didnโt budge. โI was wondering why you suddenly got so bold. Turns out youโve got a man backing you up. Lemira, have you no shame?โ
Lemira retorted coldly, โWhat shame? Captain Matthew and I are friends.โ
โLemmy, the way Matthew was defending you earlier, anyone with eyes could see heโs into you. But what if Mr. Draven finds out about you and Matthew? Would he be upset?โ
She hoped to see panic on Lemiraโs face, but Lemira remained expressionless.
Caspian, however, was shocked. โEve, what do you mean by that? Whatโs her relationship with Mr. Draven?โ
He had just returned and was unaware of the many developments he had missed.
โCaspian, I got this from Asher. He said Lemmy has a deep connection with Mr. Draven, who even transferred shares of a tech startup to her.โ
Hearing this, Caspian understood everything. Was this a sugaring arrangement?
Caspian glared at Lemira. โI underestimated you. No wonder youโve become so audacious, climbing up the ranks through Mr. Draven.โ
Caspian was furious, unable to accept that his sister could do such a thing.
Lemiraโs gaze turned icy. โFor the last time, Thaddeus is a friend.โ
She didnโt want to waste her words and tried to leave.
โLemira, I havenโt finished speaking. Who said you could go? If our parents knew about it, theyโd be turning in their graves!โ
Lemiraโs eyes turned colder, and she grabbed Caspian by the collar: โYouโre not worthy to mention our parents. And you think you are?โ
She punched him, and Caspian fell to the ground, unable to get up. He was shocked. If he thought it was an accident before, now it was clear Lemira was skilled, certainly more than him. Looking at this unfamiliar version of his sister, Caspian was deeply unsettled.
Lemira then turned to Evelina, who stepped back in fear. โWhat, what do you want?โ
Lemira advanced, slowly tightening her grip on Evelinaโs neck. She whispered menacingly, โDid you think youโd be safe just because Alaric took the fall for you?โ
โLet me go. Itโs not like I forced Alaric to do it.โ It was Alaricโs own decision.
Lemira watched Evelinaโs desperate struggle: โYour triumph wonโt last. Iโll make you lose everything, wishing for death as I was locked away and tortured in a mental institution in my past life.โ
โI believe you, let me go.โ Evelina was genuinely frightened. How had Lemira become so formidable?
Chapter 40
She didnโt want to die. Finally, Lemira let go, and Evelina collapsed, gasping for air like a dying fish.
Caspian managed to stand. โLemira, how could you attack Eve? Her father saved your life!โ
โThatโs why I spared her life.โ
Caspian tried to intervene but realized he was no match for Lemira alone. Watching Lemira walk away, he felt uncomfortable facing this newfound strength in his sister. He missed the old days when she used to dote on him.
Outside, Lemira acted as if nothing had happened. The party soon ended.
Lemira found Janice: โHow did the autograph collection go?โ
โSmoothly. I mentioned Iโm from the Orvin University Team, and many students, being fans, eagerly agreed to autographs and photos.โ
โItโs getting late; letโs head back.โ
Lemira and Janice left after she briefly spoke to Matthew and Michel.
