Chapter 415
Lemira stared at Caspian, almost piecing together the dayโs drama. Trying to corner her into not suing, huh? Lemiraโs lips curled into a cold smirk. โOf course, I wonโt sue.โ
Caspianโs face broke into a satisfied grin, confident in Lemiraโs wit to say what needed to be saidโand what didnโt. Pushing Caspian aside, Lemira retorted, โBecause it wasnโt me who sued in the first place. Alaric stole trade secrets. Itโs Maple Group thatโs suing.โ
Caspianโs smile faded, surprised by Lemiraโs lack of cooperation. Lemira crushed a confetti canister under her foot with disdain, casting one last cold glance at the fanboy before walking away. The fanboy, seeing the crushed canister, didnโt dare stop her.
Caspian had his lackeys remove the fanboy, then chased after Lemira. โHold up, did I say you could leave?โ
Caspian was visibly upset. โEvelina apologized last night, and Iโve already reprimanded Asher. They know they were wrong. I gave you an out just now; what more do you want?โ
โI should be the one asking that. The outsiders donโt know Asher was involved. Imagine the fallout if that gets out. You think your nominee for Best Actor will stand to gain anything?โ
Calling him a nominee hit a nerve with Caspian. Caspianโs face turned steel blue with rage. โLemira, are you threatening me? Grown bold, huh? Not even listening to your brother anymore.โ
Lemira stood her ground. โIโm saying this for your own good. Donโt stir up trouble.โ
โI just want our family to be at peace. Asher was wrong, and Iโll make him apologize. Just tell me what you want for compensation; I can make it happen.โ
Lemira scoffed, โI want you to stay away from me.โ
After her remark, she walked away, but Caspian, unwilling to let go, followed. โYou think your little games will make the media believe you over me, a big star?โ
โGive it a try.โ
โLemira, if you walk away now, your dear class president and roommate wonโt have it easy.โ
Lemira stopped, visibly annoyed. Turning to Caspian, her tone dripping with sarcasm, โEver since we were kids, have you had any talent other than using threats to get your way?โ
โCaspian, dare to repeat that?โ His complexion darkened as he grabbed Lemiraโs wrist tightly. But Lemira broke free effortlessly, her strength too much for Caspian to contain.
Caspian, taken aback, had always seen Lemira as the obedient one, the one who feared him the most. Lemira replied coldly, โYou canโt beat me anymore.โ And she wouldnโt stand there and take it.
Caspian, with malice in his voice, โArenโt you afraid for those close to you?โ
โMr. Caspian, have you forgotten? The script for the TV show you recently starred in, and the upcoming movie, were written by me. But they carry your and Evelinaโs names, remember?โ
Caspian squinted, โWhat are you implying? The scripts were a collective effort, not just your achievement.โ
โYou can lie to yourself. But if I share our chat history and call recordings about you asking for scripts, your talented nominee for Best Actor facade wonโt hold.โ
โLemira, you wouldnโt dare!โ
โIf you hurt anyone close to me, letโs see if I dare.โ
With a mocking glint in her eyes, Lemira turned and left the campus, slightly relieved. Caspian indeed cared much about this yearโs Best Actor award.
Heading to the gym, Lemira knew she needed to strengthen herself further. Her words would make Caspian wary, but knowing him, heโd seek revenge. But this time, she wouldnโt back down.
