Chapter 444

Asher was in a pickle, fuming over the mess heโ€™d gotten himself into. There was no turning back now, only damage control.

Lemira returned to her hospital room. That evening, Orion, caught up with work, couldnโ€™t make it back but sent over a meal from Bistrovaโ€™s.

Debby spoke up, โ€œMs. Langston, the police are expected to release preliminary investigation results tonight. We could go live later and clarify the situation. Itโ€™d be best if you wore your hospital gown, showcasing your injuries for added public sympathy.โ€

โ€œGot it.โ€

Sure enough, not long after dinner, the police issued their preliminary findings: โ€œFollowing Ms. Langstonโ€™s live broadcast of her ordeal, our thorough investigation has confirmed that Mr. Langston indeed engaged in violent behavior. More details will follow as our investigation deepens.โ€

This statement quickly became trending news. Given that Caspian was a notable celebrity, the revelation of his violent tendencies flipped public opinion against him overnight. Caspian was now branded as a violent figure.

More allegations surfaced, claiming Caspianโ€™s temper was notorious behind the scenes, and he was prone to physical outbursts. There were stories of minor actors going deaf from his slaps, incidents that were previously swept under the rug but were now coming to light.

Seeing the tide turn, Lemira went live on her account, with a speech prepared by Debby. Appearing on camera, Lemira looked pale, her injuries visible for all to see. No makeup was needed to emphasize her plight.

โ€œEveryone knows my family life has been troubled. They once refused to let me accept an offer from Orvin University, wanting to keep me close. But I fought hard to leave the Langston household, to start anew, yet they wouldnโ€™t let me be. Live streaming is the only weapon I have to reveal Caspianโ€™s true face. Heโ€™s always been quick to violence; any disobedience on my part was met with physical punishmentโ€ฆโ€

With her face ashen and eyes red, Lemira detailed the events leading up to the live broadcast. Wiping away tears, she continued, โ€œCaspian loves crafting the image of a caring brother, his facade so convincing that no one believed my side of the story. I hope the law will hold him accountable this time.โ€

During her live session, Caspianโ€™s fans stormed in, hurling insults and clashing with her supporters. Suddenly, a request for a PK live duel popped up, authenticated as Caspian.

What did Caspian want to say? Debby gestured frantically, signaling her not to accept and to end the live session. Lemira complied, turning to her PR team, โ€œIs it okay not to respond?โ€

โ€œItโ€™s fine. Thatโ€™s definitely not Caspian but his agent. With his face in that state, he wouldnโ€™t dare show himself, not unless heโ€™s given up on his career in the spotlight.โ€

Lemira agreed. Caspian, ever the vain one, surely wouldnโ€™t expose his injured visage just yet.

But her phone was blowing up with calls, all from Caspian. With a light chuckle, Lemira answered, only to be met with Caspianโ€™s livid voice, โ€œLemira, how dare you reject my duel request? If youโ€™re not guilty, why refuse?โ€

โ€œLucian mentioned your face is quite a sight now.โ€

That comment hit a nerve.

โ€œLemira, youโ€™ve forced my hand. You think hiding in a hospital will keep you safe? Even if youโ€™re unscathed, your friends might not be so lucky.โ€

Lemiraโ€™s expression darkened, โ€œThis is between us. Come at me if you dare.โ€

โ€œCause me misery, and you think Iโ€™ll let you off easy? Lemira, youโ€™ve ruined me, I wonโ€™t let you have the last laugh.โ€

Her gaze turned icy, โ€œLay a finger on them, and Iโ€™ll expose your disfigured face for the world to see, let everyone witness your downfall.โ€

โ€œYou wouldnโ€™t dare!!โ€
