Chapter 459

Lemira couldn’t find peace whenever she thought about that photograph. Evelina’s father was still alive! The car accident from years ago was definitely more than it seemed.

Asher, with a hint of suspicion in his voice, stated, “Lemira, what are you implying? Eve’s father is dead. After he saved you, he went back to save my parents and died in the explosion with them.”

“If he died in the explosion, it would be hard to recognize his face, right? Are you sure the man who died was Evelina’s father?”

“Of course, I am. I saw the car that belonged to Evelina’s father myself. There’s no mistake.”

Lemira frowned, “No mistake?”

The middle-aged man she saw in the photo was indeed Evelina’s father. So, where did things go wrong?

With a cool tone, Lemira said, “What if Evelina’s father didn’t die?”

“That’s impossible, Lemira. Are you making up excuses to not feel indebted to Eve? By saying her father is still alive?”

Asher was visibly upset.

Lemira found it ridiculous, “You never doubted it, not even once?”

“You think I haven’t investigated the accident? The only lead I found was its connection to the Sinclair family, nothing else. If you’re so capable, why don’t you investigate?”

Lemira took a deep breath, “Besides the Sinclair family, our driver had no issues?”

Asher hadn’t doubted it, nor found anything amiss?

“Lemira, Eve’s father is dead. Why are you still fixated on a dead man? What’s the point?”

Hearing this, Lemira realized the Langston family never suspected the driver. She suspected Evelina’s father might be involved with the Sinclair family. But she never heard of any feud between the Sinclair family and her parents!

Lemira was going to mention this to Asher, but seeing his obstinate attitude, she decided against it. To avoid tipping anyone off prematurely.

Asher, growing more frustrated, said, “Lemira, I can’t believe you’re this cold-hearted. Caspian was manipulated into acting against you. Can’t you give him a second chance?”

“Only God can give second chances. My job is to send people to meet God. I don’t deal with anything else.”

After saying that, Lemira hung up the phone. She decided to investigate on her own since Asher wouldn’t believe her. Once she found Evelina’s father and gathered solid evidence, she’d throw it in Asher’s face.

Standing up, Lemira glanced over and saw the elegant lady she had noticed earlier at the staircase, seemingly talking to a nurse.

Mrs. Amanda, making her way to the staircase, planned to use the emergency exit. Her assistant, now in nurse attire to blend in, reported, “Ma’am, I’ve located the girl’s room, but the young master has people guarding all exits, including members of the TG Group’s PR Team. It won’t be easy to get close.”

“He even involved the TG Group’s PR Team? Seems he’s quite fond of that girl. I’m curious to see which little enchantress has bewitched my son to this extent.”

Mrs. Amanda was somewhat shocked. Typically, only The Young Mistress of the Everhart Family would receive such treatment, complete with a personal team at her disposal. Orion was quick to extend such privileges to this girl. This was a troubling development.

Mrs. Amanda glanced at her assistant, “Keep gathering information for me. I’ll figure something out.”

After the assistant left, Mrs. Amanda turned back to Lemira, “Young lady, what are you looking at?”

“Watching ants move house, killing time.”

Lemira eyed the affluent woman, “Are you here to visit someone in the hospital?”
