Chapter 464
After finishing her morning classes, Lemira headed to the esports teamโs headquarters to check on everyoneโs training progress. However, as soon as she arrived outside the facility, she was instantly mobbed by Caspianโs fans.
โLemira, why are you slandering him by claiming he abused you?โ
โLemira, werenโt you satisfied with ruining Alaricโs life? Now youโre after Caspian too?โ
โDo you have any idea how much effort Caspian has put into getting where he is today? Destroying him is like killing him!โ
Lemira hadnโt expected such a horde of zealous fans to suddenly appear.
โLetโs be rational, folks. Donโt gang up on our movie starโs sister.โ
Caspianโs agent burst through the crowd, addressing the fans, โCaspian has said it was all a misunderstanding, and he doesnโt blame Lemira. After all, blood is thicker than water. Please, donโt disrupt Lemiraโs life.โ
Hearing the agentโs words, Lemiraโs eyes flashed with scorn. So, it was all just a staged drama. Lemira looked at the agent and sneered, โYou really think you can cover up the truth this way?โ
The agent approached Lemira, speaking in a subdued tone, โMs. Langston, I donโt know what truth youโre referring to, but Caspianโs still in the hospital. Yet, heโs worried about you facing backlash from fans and specifically asked me to protect you here at school.โ
The fans started to get agitated.
โLemira, do you have no conscience? Heโs so concerned about you, yet here you are, falsely accusing him of violence.โ
โHow could there be such a venomous sister like you, Lemira?โ
The agent, seeing the angry fans, had a glint of triumph in his eyes. He whispered to Lemira, โMs. Langston, Iโd advise you to be sensible, lest you end up hurting yourself.โ
โThe ones who should be sensible are you guys. If youโre not at fault, why rush to these underhanded tactics? Worried about a police statement after their investigation?โ
The agentโs expression stiffened, โMs. Langston, after all, youโre family. Canโt you just talk it out?โ
โI donโt think thereโs anything to talk about.โ
Lemira tried to leave but was blocked by the fans. Thatโs when the schoolโs security personnel arrived, driving all the fans away, bringing some quiet to the campus.
Lemira pointed at the agent, โHeโs in on it too, kick him out.โ
The agent was visibly annoyed, โIโm part of the crew, not a fan. Lemira, driving away the fans will only tarnish your image further. No one will believe your side of the story.โ
โIโve never cared if the fans believe me or not, as long as the police do.โ
Once the police get involved, Caspian will pay for his actions! Lemira headed straight for the esports teamโs headquarters.
With no other options, the agent reluctantly called Caspian, โThis isnโt working. Your sisterโs clearly out to get you, showing no signs of backing down or seeking reconciliation.โ
โThatโs impossible. Evelina even begged for forgiveness on her knees; she should have cooled off by now.โ
After hanging up, Caspian, frustrated, smashed things around in his hospital room. It was only today, after removing the bandages, that Caspian saw the extent of the scars on his face, including keloid scars, which made his appearance frightening. He couldnโt help but dial Lemiraโs number, only to be met by her cold voice.
โIf youโre calling to make amends, save your breath.โ
โCaspian, I too was deceived by Evelina. And look at me now, disfigured. Havenโt I paid enough? Why push me to the brink?โ
Caspian was dejected, โIf you get me and Alaric jailed, how could you face our parents when visiting their graves during the holidays?โ
Why did Lemira have to be so ruthless, showing no mercy or familial affection?
