Chapter 467

Caspian was taken aback when he heard that. Before he could react, Lucian jumped in, โ€œAsher, you canโ€™t do this.โ€

โ€œLucian, if we donโ€™t take action first, do you want Caspian to end up behind bars like Alaric? If you have a solution, Iโ€™m all ears.โ€

Lucian knew this was a tough situation to navigate. He sighed, โ€œBut Lemira is the victim here; she hasnโ€™t done anything wrong. Itโ€™s Evelina who stirred up trouble and caused this mess. Why should Lemmy back down?โ€

โ€œI get thereโ€™s been a misunderstanding, but canโ€™t this just be sorted out privately, without making such a big scene?โ€

Asher felt Lemira was being unreasonable, unwilling to take a step back or compromise. Lucian was too frustrated to articulate a response.

Asher turned to Caspian, โ€œIf you donโ€™t follow my advice, you might as well get ready for jail time. Lemira will never let you off the hook.โ€

Caspian remained silent for a moment, contemplating. The last thing he wanted was to ruin his life over this. He hadnโ€™t even clinched the Best Actor award yet.

Seizing the opportunity, Evelina cooed at Asher, โ€œAsher, donโ€™t be so upset. Itโ€™s partly my fault that Lemmy stormed out.โ€

Asher felt a twinge of guilt. โ€œThen, youโ€™ve been wronged. I happen to have an Aurora Trust; Iโ€™ll let you manage it.โ€

A flash of delight crossed Evelinaโ€™s eyes; her plan had worked. Still, she feigned modesty, โ€œAsher, I might not be capable enough, but Iโ€™ll do my best not to disappoint you.โ€

โ€œI believe in you. Youโ€™ll do great.โ€

Caspian was furious. โ€œAsher, youโ€™re actually covering for Evelina and compensating her with the foundation. Didnโ€™t you say it was meant for Lemira?โ€

โ€œWho Eve is is not for you to remind me.โ€

Asher replied calmly, โ€œLemira refuses to compromise, and Eve has suffered enough. Whatโ€™s wrong with a little compensation?โ€

Evelina bowed her head, pretending, โ€œAsher, maybe I shouldnโ€™t accept it.โ€

โ€œEvelina, cut the act!โ€

Caspian couldnโ€™t stand her pretense anymore. โ€œIโ€™m going to make sure you suffer just like I have.โ€

โ€œAsher, Iโ€™m scared.โ€

Asher stepped in front of Evelina. โ€œYou donโ€™t have to take this. If he continues, expose his deeds just like Lemira did.โ€

โ€œAsher, youโ€™re threatening me now?โ€

Caspian was in disbelief. Asher scoffed, โ€œCaspian, Iโ€™m warning you. Lay a hand on Eve again, and youโ€™ll regret it. Letโ€™s go, Eve.โ€ Evelina breathed a sigh of relief; her gamble had paid off; she didnโ€™t want to endure more hardship.

Chapter 467

Caspian watched Evelinaโ€™s retreating figure, seething with rage. He turned to Lucian, โ€œLucian, has Asher lost his mind?โ€

Lucian could only offer a wry smile. โ€œCaspian, didnโ€™t I warn you? Youโ€™d regret it someday.โ€

Caspian was at a loss for words, his spirit crushed. Who would have thought karma would strike so swiftly?

โ€œWhat should I do now?โ€

โ€œSince you were the one who acted, youโ€™re also at fault. You should be apologizing and making amends to Lemmy, not Evelina.โ€

Caspianโ€™s expression twisted awkwardly; how could he face the world like this? Was Lemira entirely blameless?

After class, Lemira saw that Caspianโ€™s fans causing a scene at the school had made the news. But the incident didnโ€™t cause much of a stir. With the policeโ€™s preliminary investigation, most people were reserving judgment.

While refreshing the news, Lemira noticed Matthew had made headlines. Whatโ€™s going on?

Matthew had done an interview where a reporter asked if Ms. Sinclairโ€™s visit to the bridal shop meant the two families were nearing a happy announcement. Matthew flatly denied, โ€œAsher and Ms. Sinclair have never been involved, much less engaged. Itโ€™s all media fabrication. Asher is currently seeing someone, and things are going well.โ€
