Chapter 472
Orion extended his hand towards her, his gaze deep and intense. Lemira bit her lip, feeling a flutter of excitement, and placed her hand in his. She looked up, โOrion, thank you for being there for me when I needed it most.โ
Perfect timing.
After she spoke, Lemira sneezed, โSeems a bit chilly in the hills.โ
โI better get you home; itโs getting late.โ
Holding hands, they walked outside together, Lemira glancing at their intertwined fingers, her mood lifting. After leaving the Langston estate, she was no longer alone. She had friends, and now, a boyfriend.
But the journey took longer than expected, and Lemira had to run to her dorm, fearing sheโd be late. Out of breath, she made it back, receiving a message from Orion: โIf you didnโt make it, Iโm waiting outside.โ
โMade it last minute, exhausted.โ
Lemira, panting, sat down as her roommate, Janice, poured her a cup of hot chocolate: โHow was your date?โ
โIt was good; we made it official today.โ
After a sip, Lemira felt better.
โHeโs the one who gave you the pain relief cream, right? I knew he liked you, even when you denied it.โ
Lemira smiled, โTomorrow, Iโll buy the team some milkshakes.โ
After getting ready for bed, she texted Orion: [What are you doing?]
[Just got home, get some rest.]
Orion parked at Ms. Ashworthโs old house. After sending the message, he went inside. Mrs. Eileen sat on the couch, waiting: โYouโre home? Insisting your brother clarify things with the Sinclair family, youโre serious about this girl?โ
โYes.โ
โAny other girl would do, but not her. Unless you tell her everything, and she still accepts you, I wonโt oppose.โ
Orion remained silent, โI need time.โ
โIโll give you a month. If itโs not settled by then, Iโll step in.โ
Mrs. Eileenโs stern look carried the weight of her authority; she didnโt want to see either of them hurt. Orion, worried for her health, agreed, โIโll handle it.โ
Mrs. Eileen sighed deeply; why did it have to be that girl, a twisted fate indeed.
The next morning, Lemira headed to class in high spirits. The sky was clear; she even sent Orion a picture of it. After sending it, she saw Evelina, dressed in designer from head to toe, strutting her way. Evelinaโs outfit mustโve cost a fortune.
Stopping near Lemira, Evelina bragged, โThanks to you letting Caspian mess with me, Asher has put me in charge of the Aurora Trust.โ
Aurora Trust? Lemiraโs face fell, โWhy would Asher do that?โ
That trust was her parentsโ legacy. It was meant for her, not Evelina! Evelina flaunted her designer bag, โThis is Asherโs way of making it up to me for being wronged. If you have a problem, take it up with Asher.โ
After enduring so much, why not accept some compensation? The Langstons owed her that much!
With that, Evelina walked away in her heels.
Frustrated, Lemira called Asher, โYou gave the Angel Fund to Evelina?โ
โYes, it was meant for you, but youโve been disobedient, causing chaos in the Langston family. Consider this a lesson.โ
