“Didn’t you say you’d do anything to make it up to me, as long as I don’t sue?”

Lemira’s gaze was full of mockery.

Caspian was momentarily speechless. “But I’ve worked so hard to get the company to where it is today.”

“I know, but you can use Asher’s shares. And you’ll still be the star of the show. No matter how you look at it, you’re in a win-win situation.”

“Lemira, when did you become so greedy?”

Lemira stepped closer, her voice low and haunting. “Me, greedy? Without my hard work and scripts, would your company have thrived like this? I’m only asking for what I deserve.”

She once thought of staying away from the Langstons. Not anymore. She wasn’t naive anymore. What was rightfully hers, she would not let go easily.

She turned around. “If you don’t agree, forget it.”

“You won’t get anything either.”

“But at least I won’t be ruined. I can find other ways. But you won’t have that chance.”

Lemira’s eyes shimmered with sarcasm, betting Caspian couldn’t afford to lose.

“So, you no longer fancy running a company with your dear Asher?”

Caspian managed a bitter smile. “If Asher is blinded by Evelina, I can’t just throw myself into the fire.”

He couldn’t let his hard work be stolen. Asher, protecting Evelina as he does, shouldn’t expect any favors for his company.
