Chapter 496

Caspian finally cooled down. โ€œAsher, I poured my heart into this company. Evelina doesnโ€™t deserve to even touch it.โ€

โ€œBut Iโ€™ve already got Eve signed to the company with an artist contract. All the top scripts in the future will have her as the leading lady, including a supporting role in a movie releasing in a few months.โ€

Asherโ€™s tone was still as arrogant as ever. โ€œThe contract is signed and effective. If you want to break it now, itโ€™s going to cost you a fortune to compensate Eve.โ€

Lemira couldnโ€™t help but smirk. When it came to being unpleasant, Asher always had a knack. Heโ€™s moving fast, assigning all these roles to Evelina already!

Caspian snorted. โ€œSo what? The company has its plans, and with Evelinaโ€™s acting skills, it would be an embarrassment to even let her out.โ€

As long as the company wasnโ€™t under Asherโ€™s control, Evelina wouldnโ€™t get any good resources.

Lemira looked at Evelina with a half-smile. โ€œAs the boss, I must say, you really need to up your acting game, try to actually bring some revenue to the company. Oh wait, your acting has always been top-notch; acting is definitely your calling.โ€

Evelinaโ€™s face twisted in anger at these words. After all, what Evelina wanted was to be the boss of the company, having the final say in everything. But Lemira beat her to it, stealing what she considered rightfully hers, and that was something Evelina couldnโ€™t stand.

Caspian mocked, โ€œHer acting is so bad, aside from pretending to be frail within the Langston family, sheโ€™s nothing outside.โ€

Evelina stormed out of the break room, her eyes red with rage, feeling utterly humiliated.

Asher looked at Lemira, โ€œYou really have a way with things, getting them on your side!โ€

โ€œItโ€™s not about being capable; Iโ€™m just not in the wrong. They stand with me out of guilt.โ€

But Lemira wasnโ€™t sure how long this guilt would last. All she needed was to corner Evelina enough for the person behind the scenes to emerge.

โ€œSure, Lemira, donโ€™t think youโ€™ve won just yet.โ€

Lucian piped up, โ€œAsher, havenโ€™t you always wanted us to be a family again? Now that Lemmy has agreed not to pursue Caspian and Alaricโ€™s actions, you should keep your promise and let Lemmy come back home.โ€

Asher adjusted his tie. โ€œI did say that, but has anyone truly admitted their mistakes?โ€

Lemira responded coolly, โ€œI wonโ€™t admit to mistakes that arenโ€™t mine. The ones who should, arenโ€™t me.โ€

โ€œRight, the mistake isnโ€™t Lemiraโ€™s, itโ€™s ours.โ€

Alaric entered, looking remorseful at Lemira. โ€œI was fooled by Evelina before, itโ€™s true. And Caspian is right; Iโ€™m not innocent. Iโ€™m willing to transfer my shares in the Langston family to you as compensation.โ€

Caspian added, โ€œLemira, Alaric, Lucian, and I, weโ€™re all sorry for what we did before. You were right.โ€

Lemira didnโ€™t respond immediately.

Lucian wheeled closer, โ€œLemmy, we all know we were wrong. Can you come back to the Langston family?โ€

Lemira noticed Evelina standing at the door, realizing she hadnโ€™t left. Evelina dreamed of driving her out of the Langston family, taking her place, including Evelinaโ€™s fatherโ€™s position. She wouldnโ€™t let them have their way.

Her lips curved into a cold smile. โ€œFine, I accept the reconciliation!โ€

As long as she pretended to return to the Langston family, Evelina and whoever was behind her would probably get restless.

After Lemiraโ€™s declaration, Evelina couldnโ€™t help stepping out from behind the door, looking pitifully at Asher, โ€œAsher, do you accept her back into the Langston family too?โ€

Lemira, that wretch, why does she have to come back after leaving?
