Chapter 495
Lemiraโs smirk was ice-cold, revealing a side of her even she didnโt know existed until now. Caspian and Lucian stood by Lemira, making it crystal clear they were on her team.
Asher, pointing fingers at Caspian and Lucian, exploded, โYou two turncoats, do you even remember who helped you kickstart your company? And now, youโre handing over all your shares to Lemira? Have you lost your minds?โ
Lucian managed a bitter smile. โAsher, youโre the one losing it. Lemira is our sister, not our enemy.โ He couldnโt fathom why Asher was going to such extremes.
Evelina was fuming on the sidelines. How could both Caspian and Lucian side with Lemira, even going as far as transferring their shares to her? If Lemira became the companyโs major shareholder, wouldnโt that ruin her plans?
Evelina, frustrated, chimed in, โLucian, you of all people know how much Asher has sacrificed for the Langston family. He shared his shares out of brotherly love, and now youโre sidelining him. Thatโs just cruel.โ
โSpare me your moral high ground,โ Lemira shot back at Evelina. โAsher practically drained the Langston familyโs finances and assets to start his venture. Itโs only fair for everyone to share in the dividends.โ
Evelinaโs eyes welled up with tears. Turning to Asher, she said, โIf I had shares, I would never betray you.โ
Asher was speechless, never imagining this day would come. He glared at Lucian and Caspian. โAre you sure you want to side with Lemira against me?โ
Lucian responded, โAsher, itโs not about being against you. Handing the company over to Evelina instead of Lemira is nonsensical, especially since Lemiraโs scripts have raked in a fortune for us.โ
โHa! Have you so quickly forgotten how Lemira had Alaric and Caspian jailed? Her heartlessness towards the Langston family, does that mean nothing to you?โ
Asher was utterly defeated. He couldnโt believe his own brothers were turning against him; all he did was for the good of the Langston family.
Caspian stepped in. โAsher, are you out of your mind? The incident with Lemira, yes, I was at fault. I was the one who wanted to hurt her, and Evelina misled me. That was on me. Evelina, the real villain, misled me, and what does that have to do with Lemira?โ
Caspian didnโt hold back. โIncluding the Alaric situation, it was Evelina who first stole Lemiraโs work and dragged Alaric into it. Alaric wasnโt innocent, but Evelina was the instigator. Lemira was the victim here!โ
Asher, clenching his teeth, retorted, โIt was all a trap set by Lemira.โ
โDid Lemira force Evelina to steal her work? No. We were in the wrong from the start!โ
Caspian, getting closer to Asher and pointing at Evelina, said, โThis woman is the root of all evil. Both incidents were caused by her.โ
Seeing this, Evelina quickly played the victim. โCaspian, I did what I did just to secure the contract for Lucianโs company. And as for you assaulting Lemira, that has nothing to do with me. Youโve always been quick to throw punches.โ
Caspian, hearing Evelinaโs words, was livid. Asher pushed Caspian away. โI know Evelina better than any of you. She might be a bit naive, but sheโs not malicious.โ
Hearing Asher defend Evelina, Lemira almost burst into laughter. She didnโt bother explaining further, simply stating, โDo whatever you want with Evelina, but when it comes to the company, you donโt have a say. Evelina, youโre out.โ
