Chapter 508

Evelina had become quite accustomed to the privileged lifestyle with the Langston family. Now, as she watched her image of the โ€œtwo-facedโ€ girl crumble bit by bit, she was certain she would need to reach out to her father.

Over the next few days, Evelina found herself being reprimanded on set. Her agentโ€™s demeanor toward her had also turned chilly, likely under Caspianโ€™s orders.

By Friday, Lemira realized she had been added back into the family group chat. She recalled leaving the chat after her rebirth. Glancing at the messages, she saw Lucian tagging her: [Tomorrowโ€™s the weekend. Are you free to come home for dinner tonight?]

Intent on playing her role to the fullest, Lemira agreed, planning to stir things up at the Langston household.

Meanwhile, outside, Evelina also saw the group chat message. Enraged, she smashed the cup in her hand. The group chat had been blissfully free of Lemira, but now she was coming back to disrupt everything.

Storming off to a secluded spot, Evelina pulled out an old spare phone and made a call, her voice trembling with emotion: โ€œHow much longer do I have to endure this? Canโ€™t we get rid of Lemira like we did with that car accident?โ€

โ€œEve, patience is crucial. Didnโ€™t you mention the Langston family is investigating the accident? We canโ€™t make a move now, or theyโ€™ll find out.โ€

โ€œSo I just have to keep putting up with this?โ€

โ€œFor now, yes. But remember, you can still pull some cash from the Aurora Trust. And if you can persuade Asher to collaborate with my recommended partners on the AI project, weโ€™ll be able to drain a significant portion of the Langston Groupโ€™s funds. Then, you wonโ€™t have to endure the Langston family any longer.โ€ Evelina reluctantly agreed. She would endure it a bit longer. Once the Langston family went bankrupt, sheโ€™d repay todayโ€™s humiliation a hundredfold.

After Lemiraโ€™s team training finished, she received a call from Orion. His voice was composed: โ€œAny plans for the weekend?โ€

โ€œNot really, though I do plan to drop by the Langston family tonight. Got to keep up appearances.โ€

Orion detected a hint of eagerness in her voice: โ€œYou seem quite enthusiastic!โ€

โ€œOf course, itโ€™s going to be quite the spectacle.โ€

โ€œBut Iโ€™m concerned about you going there alone. Iโ€™ll come with you.โ€

What if the Langston family tried to cause trouble for Lemira?

Lemira almost choked on her drink: โ€œYou want to come with me to the Langston family?โ€

โ€œYeah, unless Iโ€™m unwelcome?โ€

She chuckled, โ€œItโ€™s not that. Thereโ€™s just no need for you to meet them. Maybe during the holidays, you can come with me to visit my parentsโ€™ graves.โ€

In her heart, only her parents were her true family.

Orion paused for a moment before replying: โ€œAlright.โ€ He felt uncertain. When the time came to reveal everything, would Lemira still want to be with him?

โ€œOkay, letโ€™s have dinner together tomorrow then.โ€

โ€œSure, send me your address and keep me updated on your plans.โ€

Chapter 508

Lemira complied, sending her address to Orion. As she stepped out of campus, ready to hail a cab, she noticed Caspianโ€™s car parked by the curb, her agent standing outside. โ€œMs. Lemira, our future Oscar winner has come to take you home for dinner.โ€

At that moment, Evelina emerged from the school and recognized Caspianโ€™s car. Grinding her teeth, she approached: โ€œCaspian, are you here to take us home?โ€

Caspian rolled down the window, a mask partially obscuring his face, his eyes cold: โ€œIโ€™m here to take my sister home. Who do you think you are?โ€
