Chapter 510
Evelina, with an air of arrogance, called out to the staff, โCanโt you see I need help here? Are you all blind?โ But the staff ignored her, rushing into the villaโs living room. Evelina was left to hobble her way towards the villa on her own.
Inside, Lemira admired the decor. โThis place really reminds me of Lyria,โ she remarked. Lucian nodded in agreement. โYes, our parents decorated it back in the day, and weโve tried to keep everything the same, just as they intended.โ A nostalgic glimmer flickered in Lemiraโs eyes.
Noticing Evelinaโs entrance from the corner of her eye, Lemira decided to stir the pot. โSo, whereโs my room?โ she inquired. Lucian quickly responded, โUpstairs. Weโve got it all set up for you.โ โOh, I see,โ Lemira smirked, her eyes landing on Evelina. โI guess that means someoneโs going to be without a room?โ Feigning innocence, she added, โBut hey, not much I can do. This house was bought by my parents, and the biggest, best room was always meant for me.โ
Evelina was fuming but shot back, โWell, Asher bought me another house as compensation.โ It seemed Asher really did have a soft spot for Evelina. Lucian, seeing through Evelinaโs bragging, said, โSince Asher got you another place, maybe you should move there.โ Evelinaโs face went pale, at a loss for words. Caspian nodded in agreement. โExactly. Itโs not like weโre family. Living together doesnโt really make sense.โ
Evelina burst into tears, but no one stepped in to comfort her. Lucian, Caspian, and Alaric all buzzed around Lemira, treating Evelina as if she were invisible. Lemira sauntered upstairs, casting a triumphant glance back at Evelina in the hall. This was only the beginning.
Back in her room, Lemira felt a wave of mixed emotions. In a past life, sheโd never even set foot in this place, let alone claimed this room. It had been Evelinaโs domain, with no space for Lemira.
Dinner time came around quickly. Asher returned, and Evelina was the first to greet him, as he was the only one in the house who would give her attention apart from her brothers. Asher noticed the scrape on Evelinaโs arm, and his expression darkened. โWhat happened to you?โ Evelina stammered, โWhen Lemmy came back, I accidentally got in her way, and she got mad. But donโt hold it against her, Asher. Itโs been so long since sheโs been home. I donโt want to fight with her.โ
Asher fumed. โDoes Lemira think she can just do whatever she wants now that sheโs back?โ Fuming, Asher stormed into the living room. Evelina smirked from the sidelines. As long as Asher was on her side, no one else could touch her.
Lemira lounged on the sofa, watching Asher approach with fire in his eyes, undoubtedly thanks to Evelinaโs instigation. Asher spoke first. โLemira, youโve caused chaos since you stepped foot in here. Whyโd you have to injure Eve?โ Lemira said nothing, merely raising an eyebrow with a look of amused disdain.
Caspian, in a burst of anger, stood up, grabbed Evelina by the hair, and pushed her to the ground. Evelina screamed, โAsher!โ Asher was too stunned to react, staring at Caspian. โWhat are you doing?โ
โAsher, Iโm showing you exactly how Evelina got hurt. See? This had nothing to do with Lemira!โ
It took Asher a moment to find words. โYou canโt just go around hitting her!โ
Lemira burst out laughing, finding the entire scene absurd. Asher turned his ire on her. โYouโve got the nerve to laugh, Lemira? This whole mess started because of you.โ
Lemira set her glass down with a thud, sarcasm dripping from her words. โSeems like Iโm not welcome here, so maybe I should leave. I guess all that talk about reconciliation was just thatโtalk.โ With that, she walked out of the villa.
Caspian shrugged, throwing caution to the wind. โAsher, if Alaric and I end up in jail, itโll be your fault for driving Lemira away.โ Asherโs face was a mix of anger and frustration as he rushed out to chase after Lemira.
