Chapter 518

Caspian dragged Zack out, his boot firmly pressing down on the man’s hand. “Speak up. Who ordered you to do this?”

Zack was about to respond when Evelina stormed over, launching into a flurry of punches and kicks. “You scoundrel! Who told you to do this to me? I’ll kill you!”

Zack was utterly bewildered, staring at Evelina in her disheveled state. “Wait, why is it you?”

This was supposed to be Lemira’s room, wasn’t it? Why was Evelina here? What in the world was going on? Evelina was sobbing uncontrollably, her neck showing a tell-tale bruise. Zack gulped, a realization dawning on him. Had he really been with Evelina? Despite himself, a strange sense of triumph welled up inside him. Evelina slapped him hard across the face. “Who ordered you to ruin me?”

Thinking quickly, Zack glanced at Lemira. “It was her! Ms. Lemira told me to do it!”

Evelina’s eyes went cold as she turned to Lemira, heartbroken. “Lemmy, it was you all along? That’s why you wanted me to rewrite the proposal at midnight and drink that glass of milk.”

At this, the “two-faced” girl dissolved into tears.

Lemira chuckled at the scene. “What a performance! Why can’t you act this well on stage? You’re usually dreadful.”

Evelina’s pleading eyes turned toward Asher. “Asher, this is the truth. You can’t let her off just because Lemira is your sister. I’m the victim here!”

Asher sighed, looking at Lemira. “Why would you do such a thing?”

Before Lemira could respond, Lucian stepped in. “Asher, I believe Lemmy had nothing to do with this.”

Caspian nodded in agreement. “I’m with Lucian. This butler was clearly targeting Lemira.”

Zack protested again. “Ms. Lemira lured me here. I had no idea it was Ms. Evelina in the bed.”

He had to back Evelina now, especially after what happened. He had to take responsibility somehow.

Evelina seized the moment, her voice rising. “Asher, I’m calling the police! I can’t let this go!”

Asher hesitated. “We can’t call the cops.”

Evelina looked shocked. How could Asher not want to report this after what happened to her?

Asher cleared his throat. “Eve, if you report this, it could ruin your reputation. If the Draven family hears about it, Mrs. Grace Draven will never accept you.”

Evelina shuddered at the thought, her fear quickly turning to rage. “Asher, this is all Lemira’s fault! I want her to suffer the same fate!”

The idea that Lemira had set her up with that old creep made Evelina’s blood boil.

Asher finally addressed Lemira. “We can’t involve the police, but you need to pay for this. The foundation will compensate Eve. After this, no one is to mention it again.”

Lemira laughed out loud. “I’m the one who got framed!”

Lucian backed her up. “Asher, this was clearly a plot by Zack and Evelina, and now Evelina’s just facing the consequences.”

Asher’s eye twitched in frustration. “Zack said Lemira orchestrated it. If you’re the victim, Lemira, do you have any proof?”

“Oh, I do,” Lemira said with a smirk.

She walked over to the table, picked up her phone, and waved it in the air. “I recorded the whole thing.”

Evelina’s face turned ashen. That snake had recorded everything? What had Zack said while drunk?
