Listen to this chapter:

Zayn gritted his teeth tightly and glared at Julie with bloodshot eyes. “You’ve got some nerve, don’t you? How dare you mess with me? How could you!”

Hearing this, Hans quickly stepped in front of Zayn and grabbed him tightly. “Are you still drunk from last night? Calm down. Let’s talk this through.”

As he spoke, he shot Julie a glance and signaled her to leave immediately.

Julie noticed the signal but had no time to comprehend why Hans was helping her; she seized the opportunity to bolt away while Zayn was distracted.

“Julie, how dare you! Let me go, Hans!”

Zayn’s furious roars came from behind her, but Julie couldn’t be bothered to care. She sped up and sprinted out of the neighborhood before coming to a stop. A cold gust of wind brought her back to her senses.

Panting heavily, she made her way to the subway station, found a seat, and tried to calm herself down. She hadn’t expected Zayn to lose his mind like that. If Hans hadn’t shown up, she would never have been able to escape.

Reaching into her pocket, she took the photo and stared at it for a while before her phone rang. “Hello?” Her voice was unsteady as she answered the call.

“What’s up, Jules? You’re out of breath. You weren’t doing anything inappropriate, were you?” Amaya’s teasing voice came.

Julie rolled her eyes. “Who’s doing anything inappropriate? Stop making things up.”

“Why are you panting, then? I thought you made up with Zayn and started the morning with passion.”

Amaya’s mind was always full of nonsense. Julie rolled her eyes at the phone and helplessly replied, “Well, it was pretty passionate.”

Amaya, who had been lounging in her hospital bed, shot upright. “No way! Did you really get back with Zayn?”

The corners of Julie’s lips twitched in helplessness as she replied, “Do you think I’m that much of a lunatic?”

“Yes,” Amaya responded without hesitation.

“Let’s not be friends anymore, shall we?” Julie snapped.

Amaya grinned. “Oh please, I was just joking. Don’t get mad.”

“Then what were you doing so early in the morning?”

Julie came up with an excuse and replied, “I ran into a lunatic; barely got away.”

“What the hell? Call the police!” Amaya said angrily.

“It’s fine. I’m okay now. By the way, how are things on your end?”

“Same old. Stop it! I’m on the phone!” Amaya’s voice became choppy.

Based on this, Julie immediately understood that something was going on. Sure enough, she heard a soft male voice call out Amaya’s name.

Had Amaya patched things up with Christian in just one night? She helplessly said into the phone, “Alright, I won’t interrupt your time together. I’m hanging up.”

With that, she ended the call and tapped on WhatsApp. She was going to contact the housing agent to arrange a house viewing that day, but she noticed a text from Lucian sent at 5:00 AM. Did Lucian ever sleep? After some thought, she typed her reply.

She had promised to visit Lucian at the hospital today, but finding a new place to live was the priority. She couldn’t bear being locked out of her dorm with nowhere to go.

Hence, she spent the entire day apartment hunting. Fortunately, she finally managed to settle on a place and sign the lease by afternoon. With that, she returned to her dorm to start packing.

Just when she got to her floor, she saw Megan standing at her door.

She frowned. She encountered one lunatic in the morning and another in the evening?

She expressionlessly walked on. “Move. You’re blocking my door.”

Megan’s face was twisted with anger as she barked, “Why?”
