Instead of following him back to his… Chapter 76

Julie looked over at Lucian. The moment he entered the house, he pulled off his coat with one hand, then casually shrugged off his suit and tossed it over the couch. When she was walking up to the house with him, she had caught a faint whiff of alcohol, but she hadn’t expected him to actually be drunk. He wasn’t even walking steadily. Seeing this, Julie subconsciously reached out to steady him. The moment her hand touched Lucian’s arm, his whole body froze. “I’m fine. You don’t have to steady me.”

“Just how much did you drink?” asked Julie as she supported him in walking over to the living room couch. “Sit down first. I’ll get you a glass of water.” As she spoke, she turned and headed for the kitchen, but the next second she felt someone grab her wrist.

Julie glanced back at Lucian, who was now sitting on the couch, in puzzlement. “What’s wrong?” He let go of her wrist, shaking his head wordlessly.

Julie picked up a clean glass from the dining table and poured Lucian a glass of warm water. As she turned to go back into the living room, she discovered he was nowhere to be found.

“I’ve poured you a glass of water, Lucian,” she called out as she pushed the door open and entered the room. However, the moment she entered the room, her steps faltered. Lucian was standing in front of his wardrobe, in the middle of changing his clothes. He was wearing his black suit pants, but his upper half was bare, revealing firm muscles and well-defined pectorals. He had a tall figure and the lines of his muscles were smooth and natural. Every muscle in his body seemed to be brimming with power.

Julie’s gaze lingered uncontrollably on his abdominal muscles, and her heart involuntarily started to beat faster. She felt her face heat up while her throat felt dry.

“Have you seen enough yet, Julie?” asked Lucian with a curve to his lips, undisguised laughter shining in his eyes.

Julie looked away in panic. “I—I wasn’t looking.” She then turned and ran.

Lucian’s voice rang out from behind her. “Make me a bowl of hangover soup before you leave.”

Julie, who had already made it to the entrance, paused when she heard this. She glanced back and couldn’t help but sigh in relief when she didn’t see Lucian coming after her. She looked down at the glass of water still in her hands. In her nervousness, she hadn’t even had the time to put it down before running off; she hadn’t even noticed the water inside spill out. She smacked herself in the forehead in annoyance. In the end, she meekly returned to the kitchen to make Lucian some hangover soup.

When Lucian came out of his bedroom to see her still in the kitchen, he was quite surprised. “You didn’t leave?” Given her crybaby, jumpy temperament, he had thought that she would definitely run right out of the house, so he hadn’t bothered to chase after her. Unexpectedly, not only was Julie still here, she was even obediently making him some hangover soup. Julie stammered, only to quickly look away the next instant. “Why aren’t you wearing clothes?”

Lucian was obviously fresh out of the shower. There was a gray towel wrapped around his waist, and his hair was still dripping with water. The water slid down his body, following the grooves of his abdominal muscles and eventually disappearing beneath the towel at his waist.

Lucian arched an eyebrow at her, his lips curving up into a smug smile. “Why do I have to wear clothes at home?”

She found herself unable to find a retort in the face of his rhetorical question. Her head was filled with mental images of his abdominal muscles. She was doomed. His muscles were going to be the death of her.

Before she could think of what to say, the cool fragrance of shower gel entered her nose. She looked up to realize that Lucian, who had still been in the living room a moment ago, was now standing right in front of her. She subconsciously retreated a few steps, looking at him in terror.

“Y—You…”

Lucian laughed in amusement. “What about me?”

Julie flushed red with embarrassment. It took quite a while before she finally managed to get the words “pervert” out of her mouth.
