Chapter 189: The Song of Secrets

Christopherโ€™s POV:

I couldnโ€™t shake my doubts. โ€œBut the first half of the song was composed by me.โ€ How could Harmony possibly have built on my work? โ€œBesides, Iโ€™ve never taken this track outside my office. How would anyone have had access to it?โ€

Siete gave me a look as though weighing his words carefully. After a moment, he finally said, โ€œThatโ€™s a question only Harmony can answer.โ€

Caesar chimed in. โ€œIf thatโ€™s the case, this is easy to resolve. We just need Harmony to clarify things personally. The misunderstanding will be cleared up, and the accusations of plagiarism will disappear.โ€

I glanced at Siete, my expression serious. โ€œItโ€™s not going to be that simple.โ€

Siete smiled faintly. โ€œMaybe itโ€™s not as complicated as you think. Perhaps she just wanted to help you.โ€

His words left me baffled. I had no idea what he was implying.

Siete continued, โ€œLeave this to me. Iโ€™ll find a way to convince Harmony to come forward and clarify. You should focus on handling the PR fallout. Harmonyโ€™s fans are notoriously aggressive. Itโ€™s critical to minimize the damage as much as possible.โ€

Caesar nodded. โ€œDonโ€™t worry. Iโ€™ll take care of the PR side.โ€

With that, Siete turned and left. After they both departed, the spacious office felt eerily quiet, with just me inside. I stared out the window, Sieteโ€™s words still echoing in my mind. Why would Harmony write a song for me? As far as I could recall, we had no connection. And most importantly, how did Harmony even access the first half of my composition? It felt like a tangled web of mysteries I couldnโ€™t unravel.

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

I never imagined that casually modifying Christopherโ€™s track would create such a huge mess for him. Now, the only way to fix this problem is for me to step forward as Harmony and clear the air. Butโ€ฆ

I pulled out my phone, hesitating to log into Harmonyโ€™s official account. It had been years since I last accessed it. I was afraid of seeing the messages from fans who had been waiting for me. Even more, I dreaded confronting my past, the parts of myself I had buried and didnโ€™t want to face. The courage to deal with those lingering pieces of my history just wasnโ€™t there.

โ€œHayley, the schoolโ€™s out. Why are you still here?โ€ Christineโ€™s voice snapped me out of my thoughts. I quickly stashed my phone and stood up. โ€œIโ€™m heading out now. Letโ€™s go together.โ€

Christine nodded. Once I had packed my things, we left the classroom side by side.

โ€œChristine, have you heard about the accusations against Christopher for plagiarism?โ€ I couldnโ€™t stop myself from asking.

Christine gave me a puzzled glance. โ€œHayley; you never mention Hubby. Why the sudden interest?โ€

I kept my tone steady. โ€œI saw it trending online and got curious.โ€ That explanation seemed to satisfy her, and she didnโ€™t press further. She had heard about the scandal but didnโ€™t seem too concerned. Her mood was surprisingly upbeat.

โ€œHubby would never plagiarize,โ€ she said with complete confidence.

I turned to look at her. โ€œYouโ€™re that sure about him?โ€

She nodded without hesitation. โ€œHeโ€™s my idol, my everything! When I decided to become his fan, I knew loving him meant trusting him unconditionally. And trust is the foundation of love. His character is beyond reproach, so Iโ€™ve always believed in him.โ€

Her words echoed in my mind, each one striking a chord. At that moment, I found myself envying Christopher. To have someone who believes in him without a shadow of a doubt โ€“ what a rare and precious thing. As the alpha of the Shadow Pack, Iโ€™d been raised to be cautious and skeptical of others. Aside from my wolf, Hera, I wasnโ€™t sure if anyone trusted me with that same blind faith.

โ€œYouโ€™re right. Heโ€™s not that kind of person,โ€ I finally said, my mind settling on a decision.

By then, weโ€™d reached the school gates. Christine waved at me. โ€œSee you tomorrow, Hayley!โ€

I waved back with a smile. โ€œSee you tomorrow!โ€

After we parted ways, I pulled out my phone again. This time, I didnโ€™t hesitate. I logged into my old account, watching as countless notifications piled up โ€“ 999+ over and over. Ignoring the flood of messages, I went straight to the editor and began typing a post at lightning speed.

โ€œHarmony, Iโ€™ve been waiting for you,โ€ Sieteโ€™s voice suddenly interrupted from behind me.
