Chapter 285: Tracking Her Down
Bill couldn't help but praise her. โI never wouldโve guessed, but Ben, this young man, really has things figured out. If the two of them end up together, Iโll be at peace.โ
โAnd with Ben as the Alpha of the Midnight Pack and Layz as the Alpha of the Shadow Pack, the two of them together will only make both packs stronger,โ Dorothy added, clearly impressed with Benjamin.
โBut Ben also said theyโre just getting engaged for now, and theyโll take their time with the wedding, which is perfectly fine.โ
The two of them exchanged a smile.
Hayleyโs POV:
I was a bit annoyed that my grandparents had gone on a trip without telling me. Initially, I had been hoping they would come back to the Shadow Pack, but now it seemed like Iโd have to wait a bit longer before returning.
Still, I didnโt dwell on it too much. With my time off, I decided to start looking for Christine. It was strange, though. All the evidence pointed to Christine having returned home, but after all this time, she hadnโt come back or even contacted her family.
I thought about it for a moment, then opened my computer. โThomas, has the SkyEye system bug been fixed yet?โ I sent him a message.
A short while later, I received his reply: โItโs been fixed, Alpha. Do you need to use it?โ
I responded with a simple yes, then added, โI want to find someone. Letโs see if SkyEye can help us track her down quickly.โ
Thomas, eager to help, asked, โAlpha, who are you looking for? Just send me the details, and SkyEye will find them within a day.โ
I sent over Christineโs information. โLet me know as soon as you get any news.โ
Thomas sent a quick OK and immediately began searching for Christine using the system. I took a deep breath, hoping weโd find her soon. And I thought that with SkyEye, it should only take a short time to locate Christine.
But three days later, there was still nothing. It was as if she had vanished without a trace.
โAlpha, do you think someone is intentionally hiding her whereabouts?โ
I sank into deep thought. Who could have such power to block all traces of her?
As I was lost in thought, there was a knock at the door. I snapped back to reality, thinking it was Lista, andโฆ
But there was no reply, and I was a little surprised. I stood up and went to open the door. When I did, I froze.
โGrandpa, Grandma, what are you doing here?โ I asked, my voice filled with excitement.
Grandma opened her arms wide. โMy Hayz, let me see youโve been doing well.โ
I was shocked. โGrandma, didnโt you two go on a trip? Why are you back so suddenly?โ
Grandma didnโt answer but gave Grandpa a look. He casually said, โWe got tired of traveling, so we came back.โ
Looking at him, I raised an eyebrow. โReally?โ
Grandma nodded, and I decided not to press the issue further. I was just so happy to see them. โGrandma, Iโve missed you so much!โ
With that, I wrapped my arms around her and wouldnโt let go. Grandma, unable to resist, gently patted my back. โYouโre too old to be acting like this.โ
I stuck out my tongue. โNo matter how old I get, Iโll always be a child in your eyes.โ
Grandma lovingly ruffled my hair and playfully chided, โYou little rascal.โ
With that, I led her into the room, while Grandpa said he was going downstairs for a coffee.
As soon as the door closed, Grandma suddenly turned serious and said, โHayz, we know about you and Ben.โ
I froze.
