Chapter 172

Odalys jumped off the cliff without hesitation, terrifying the others. The cameraman, aghast, instinctively ran after her with his camera. He zoomed in, capturing the exciting scene of Odalys's jump. She nimbly tiptoed across a rock, turned in the air, caught a protruding rock, and looked around.

"Are you inside?" Odalys asked softly.

The previous night, she'd cast a spell on the python, rendering it invisible to others and the cameras. After a gust of wind, the python appeared, pulling Odalys into a cave by its tail.

Odalys landed and saw an injured snake. The snake raised its head, seemingly playing dead to avoid frightening her. Seeing this, Odalys was dumbfounded. The python coiled, raised its head, and looked at her.

"I brought you some food," Odalys said, producing toads she'd caught that morning, along with wild fruits. She'd caught the toads near Sophia's room, as planned, intending them as a gift for the python. At the sight of the toads, the python was surprised. The snake loved frogs, so it was tempted.

However, the python didn't eat the toads. It nudged the injured snake with its head. The snake obediently opened its mouth and swallowed them whole.

"I have a few questions," Odalys whispered.

The python couldn't speak, but communicated intelligently through body language. Odalys patiently engaged in this unusual conversation.

"Do you mean the man injured it to tame it and use it as bait for you?" This information surprised Odalys. She knew the man wanted the python, but his method was unexpected. The python nodded.

"Does he want your blood?" Odalys asked uncertainly. She was surprised to learn of someone wanting the python's blood. After a nod, the python growled, displaying its anger. It likely would have killed the man if the snake hadn't been injured.

"I'll bring my friends into this cave. Is that alright?" Odalys whispered.

She heard the sound of running water and guessed a waterfall was nearby. Based on her experience, waterfalls often held surprises.

Hearing this, the python quickly turned, wrapped the injured snake, and fled. It was enormous but agile, quickly disappearing from Odalys's sight.

Odalys returned to the cave entrance. Pulling a rope, she shouted, "I found a cave! There might be a waterfall at the end. Slide down one by one, and I'll catch you!"

Her companions heard her. Freya climbed down without hesitation. The cameraman was last.

"No snakes, are there?" Selali worried. The cave was pitch-black and looked creepy.

"No. I think even if there are, just don't provoke them," Freya comforted Selali, though she was also uneasy.

Stellan lit a stick, using it as a torch to lead the way. As the only man in Group B, he bravely led despite his fear, unwilling to hide behind the women and doing his best to protect them.

"Be careful," Stellan said.

Holding the torch, he walked forward. It was dark wherever the sun didn't reach. Selali and Freya followed closely, noting Odalys's calm demeanor. Her composure was infectious, and they relaxed.

"The waterfall!" Stellan exclaimed, shocked.

The cave was beside the waterfall. The water seemed to pour from the sky, the wind carrying the spray far away. The air was cool and pleasant.

"My first waterfall!" Selali exclaimed joyfully. Freya echoed her excitement.

Odalys took out her phone. "Look at me, and I'll take a picture," she told the women.

"Great! One second, please," Freya replied. She loved having her picture taken. She quickly posed, and Selali moved close for the shot.

After several photos of Selali and Freya, Stellan said to Odalys, "Come over here."

"Fine," Odalys replied. She walked over, put her hand on Freya's shoulder, and looked back at Stellan. Thanks to the sunlight, she seemed to be in a halo.

"Come!" Freya beckoned to Stellan.

The cameraman zoomed in and took pictures of Group B with Odalys's phone. They kept changing poses. "The wind is so cool. Are there fish in the water? It's too high to get in," Freya said, craning her neck to watch the water hit the rocks.

Selali looked around. "Is that a herb?" Stellan pointed to some tall herbs whose leaves swayed in the wind.

Odalys saw them. "Let me get them," she said, striding over. Stellan gripped her hand to prevent a fall as she pulled the herbs, filling the air with their aroma. More herbs grew nearby. Odalys busily collected them, her companions enthusiastically helping.

Suddenly, a noise startled them. Instinctively, Odalys reached out and caught something. A shadow dashed from the weeds—a turkey. Turkeys liked people, especially children; it could chase children for a long time, which impressed Freya.

"A turkey!" Freya recognized it and quickly jumped back.

[Odalys is a great guide. With the waterfall and herbs, this place will become a tourist attraction!] [Amazing she grabbed the turkey by the neck so quickly!] [She loves jungle adventures! She's so brave!] [Stellan is so thoughtful, leading the way and taking pictures.] [I want to jump off that cliff too!]
