Chapter 568

When Atlas saw the photos of Hannah's arrest, he wished he could disappear. He was utterly humiliated. Countless messages flooded his phone, all filled with curses. Everyone mocked Hannah's trending status; some made crude jokes, others disgustingly questioned whether the entire Bennett family was involved in prostitution.

"Caspian, I can't take it anymore," Atlas groaned, feeling suffocated. It had all happened so suddenly. Just a short time ago, he'd been glamorous, the third heir of the Bennett family, treated with respect. He couldn't understand why everything had changed while he was filming a variety show, or what he'd done to deserve this online onslaught.

"Where's Dad? Where did he go?" Atlas's anxiety grew with each new message. He'd never had to worry about family matters before. Now, with no one to share the burden, he felt lost.

"Let's talk outside," Caspian said, glancing cautiously upstairs.

He quickly grabbed a jacket and went out. Atlas, confused, followed. Caspian stood in the courtyard, looking up at the house. Oliver and Brandon were peering down from a second-floor window, a gap in the curtains revealing them. "Caspian," Atlas whispered, startled.

Oliver and Brandon dropped the curtain only after being discovered.

"Are they watching us? When can we get rid of them? They look at us like prey. My scalp's tingling," Atlas muttered.

Caspian remained calmer. He lit a cigarette and took a drag.

"Oliver approached Henry last night and set up a magic zone at home, claiming it would help Brandon transfer his ancestor's soul into Francis's body. The soul would then work for us, sowing discord between Stellan and the others, and helping the Bennett family make a comeback. The plan failed, and Oliver was seriously injured by the backlash."

"And Brandon's been hiding in Mom's room. Though the plan failed, Mom's injury has healed. She trusts them now and won't chase them out," Caspian analyzed.

Atlas broke down again. "Then we just let them stay? The Bennett family is already a mess! How are we supposed to cope?" The bleak future filled him with despair.

"Get out of Crownridge, you sluts!" "How dare a woman her age still seduce men?" "This entire family is trash! Blind fools!"

Curses rained down from outside, followed by a barrage of eggs. One smashed against Atlas's head, yolk dripping down his face. He was bewildered. "What's going on?"

Caspian hadn't expected this. He pulled Atlas back. Fortunately, the iron gate held the mob at bay, limiting them to throwing eggs and kicking the gate. Caspian's expression darkened. He called Henry, but couldn't get through.

Chapter 568 (continued)

"This isn't right. Henry said he'd be back by noon. He went out to follow Sophia this morning. Could he be in trouble?" Caspian was growing uneasy. The Bennetts never turned off their phones unless something was wrong.

"Caspian, do something!" Atlas was near tears. He'd never faced such setbacks and panicked.

Caspian, irritated by Atlas's distress, shook off his hand. "You're a grown man! What's there to cry about? Who will pity you?"

Atlas choked back his tears. Caspian said calculatingly, "Oliver and Brandon clearly want the Bennett villa. Since we can't get rid of them, let's use them."

Atlas was confused.

"If Oliver can transfer souls, maybe he can change our situation," Caspian said.

"I heard an old man in Olmard City lost his son and wants to arrange a posthumous marriage. The Bennetts are in trouble. If Sophia marries his son, it'll create an alliance."

"Sophia was a popular actress. They'd offer a huge betrothal gift. The Stewarts gave 300 million when Percival married Odalys."

"A posthumous marriage? Caspian, you want Sophia to marry a dead man? No matter how awful she is, she's still our sister!" Atlas exclaimed, horrified.

The idea of a posthumous marriage shocked him. Even if he disliked Sophia, he wouldn't force her into this. It would ruin her life.

"Don't forget you said Sophia caused your chest wound, and that the family's in this mess because of her. Would Odalys have fought back if she hadn't been forced to marry in Sophia's place?" Caspian tried to shift blame.

People are inherently selfish, unwilling to face reality, and even less willing to accept consequences.

Atlas started to speak, but fell silent. If Sophia's posthumous marriage could save the family, it might be the only way she could repay them for raising her.

Atlas, relieved, agreed. "When Henry gets back, we'll discuss it and contact the other party. If the price is right, we'll send Sophia tonight."
