Chapter 569

As Caspian spoke, he made another phone call. "The number you have dialed is powered on," Caspian muttered, slightly irritated by the automated voice.

Turning to look at the luxurious Bennett Villa, his unease peaked. The people who had thrown eggs and made a mess outside had been asked to leave by management, but not before causing significant disruption.

"Dammit!" Atlas kicked a wilted vegetable leaf at his feet. The property, once respected during the Bennett family's prosperity, was now a target for those who delighted in their downfall. Former friends had vanished, highlighting the fickle nature of relationships based on success. When one is successful, everyone is friendly; when one is down, one becomes a nobody.

"I have a feeling something happened to Henry," Caspian said suddenly, slumping onto the grass, exhaustion evident in his eyes. He gripped his phone tightly, countless scenes replaying in his mind.

At that moment, Edie returned. Seeing the mess, she glanced indifferently at the two brothers, unfazed by their irritated stares, before entering the Bennett Villa.

"Edie!" Atlas rushed toward her, his anxiety outweighing his injury.

Edie turned her head in displeasure. Her heavy makeup couldn't hide her tiredness. Thinking of the incessant calls from the Stewarts, she panicked.

"Do you know where Henry went? Why didn't you come back with him?" Atlas asked reproachfully.

Edie met his question with a cold stare. After over twenty years as a Stewart, her noble demeanor remained, even after leaving the family. Her glance alone made Atlas pause. Her sneer deepened, but she remained silent.

Atlas, his scalp tingling, instinctively took a half-step back, avoiding her gaze. He sensed Edie was not to be trifled with.

"Why should I care where he went? Why should I come back with him? He begged to marry me. Why? Is he unhappy with me?" Edie stepped toward him.

Atlas retreated until she stopped inches away. "You think you have the right to question me? If he's unhappy, tell him to divorce me. Stop using me to cozy up to the Simpson family," she scoffed, turning and walking toward the villa.

"Caspian!" Atlas's face turned pale; fear flickered in his eyes.

Caspian remained composed. "If something happened to him… we need to bail Mom out and get Dad back. I can't reach Henry. I'm afraid…"

Atlas clutched his chest and spat out a mouthful of blood. "Atlas!" Caspian strode forward to support him. Atlas clutched his chest, pain intensifying as Sophia entered.

The wound on his chest felt like it would tear open. Atlas stared at her in fear, his panic increasing with each step she took.

"How could this be?" His eyes were filled with fear. He grabbed Caspian's arm. "Caspian, didn't you just say you were going to arrange a posthumous marriage?"

Caspian stared at Atlas, sensing something was wrong.

"Caspian, Atlas, what are you talking about?" Sophia asked innocently, winking playfully before raising her voice. "I just heard Henry went to a nightclub!" She smiled. "Why would he go to a nightclub during the day? Is he cheating on Edie? Edie isn't to be messed with. If he's unfaithful and offends the Simpson family, it won't end well, don't you agree?" Her amusement was unsettling.

Atlas gripped Caspian's hand tightly.

"Atlas, are you alright? Do you want me to help you inside?" Sophia asked gently, blinking.

Atlas recoiled as if he'd seen a ghost.

"Why are you looking at me like that? Do you not like me anymore?" Sophia's voice choked with sobs; tears welled in her eyes. She bit her lip, sadness etched on her face.

"Caspian, my wound hurts. Take me to the hospital," Atlas said, urging Caspian to take him away. "I think I might die."

"Calm down and rest," Caspian said coldly to Sophia. "I'll take him to the hospital." He wasn't as close to Sophia as the others were; he sensed the tension between her and Atlas, and Atlas's fear.

Sophia didn't argue. Her smile vanished, replaced by a flicker of murderous intent. How could she not sense their estrangement? She no longer cared. They had depended on her, but now that she was no longer useful, they wanted to get rid of her. As long as she didn't want to leave, the Bennett family couldn't get rid of her.

Atlas coughed up another mouthful of blood. He looked at Sophia's retreating figure, pain etched on his face. "Caspian, when she got close, the wound in my chest ripped open again. It felt like tearing me apart from the inside." He murmured, "It doesn't hurt as much when she's gone. She's so strange." He'd never encountered anything like this before, and felt panic rising.

"A posthumous marriage is a good choice for her," Caspian said.

Caspian felt uneasy. "She said Henry went to a nightclub? Why would he go to a nightclub during the day? I remember Henry followed me that morning. And Henry hasn't contacted me since our last call."

Even though they were prepared to present a united front, they couldn't be suspicious of each other.

Chapter 5619 (It seems there's a duplication of chapter numbers)

A pale Oliver stood with Brandon in front of the window of the Bennett Villa. The pavement was littered with smashed eggs and vegetable leaves; the stench permeated the air, but they remained unaffected.

Kesden sneered coldly. "It seems they want to drive us away."

Oliver wasn't flustered. He glanced indifferently at Caspian, then fixed his gaze on Atlas.

"That kid probably won't live long," Oliver said calmly.
