Chapter 67

"Only Odalys could have thrown the Bhartooth device outside the Bennett Group and let those paparazzi hear it," Carpun added, "She's always been very evil."

He clearly disliked Odalys. He'd never spent time with her, and despite their blood relation, she remained a stranger to him.

"Getting the phone records suggests she's not so simple," Ailas continued. "We've been deceived."

Henry continued smoking. A businessman, he still hadn't recovered from Percival's warning glare that day. He knew he'd almost died.

At that moment, Henry's phone vibrated. After the call, he looked at Hannah and said quietly, "Mom, the energy field mentor we found says someone may have cursed you, causing your bad luck. It must be someone close to you!"

Silence fell over the ward.

"It has to be Odalys," Sophia said, panicked. "Since her marriage, bad things have happened to Mother and to all of us. Besides her, who else would do this?"

She seemed desperate to blame Odalys. Her family, always doting on her, hadn't noticed her panic. Then, lightning flashed outside the window, startling them.

The lightning struck the window, shattering it. Hannah's bed was positioned near the window, and the lightning struck her.

Before Hannah could react, she was hit. She felt her blood coagulating, her body racked with pain, her hair standing on end from the electricity. Her body began to smoke, her fingertips burning. Another thunderclap followed, and a second bolt struck her.

The IV drip was severed, sending glass shards flying. Atlas, closest to Hannah, flinched and turned, but a shard pierced his arm, causing it to bleed.

"Mom!" Caspian cried, rushing forward and pushing the bed away.

Odalys stood outside the door, her almond-shaped eyes narrowed as she watched. She saw Hannah being electrocuted until she smoked.

"Don't worry," Odalys whispered. "This is just the beginning."

She'd come to the hospital solely to witness this. She wanted Hannah to understand how much the pendant had protected her in the past. She wondered if Hannah would regret slandering her once she realized the pendant saved her life. With this thought, she rushed into the chaotic ward.

While everyone focused on Hannah, Odalys grabbed Sophia's hair, yanking out several strands before slapping her repeatedly. Sophia's vision blurred, her ears ringing. By the time she recovered, Odalys had fled, leaving Sophia clutching her face in shock.

"It hurts so much," Sophia sobbed, looking up to see two handprints on her swollen face.

Her three brothers turned, surprised by her injuries. Even Hannah, struck by lightning, looked at her weakly.

Heavy footsteps sounded outside. The ward door was kicked open again, and Odalys stood there.

"What happened? Were you struck by lightning?" Odalys asked, feigning shock. Her gaze fell upon Sophia's swollen face.

Odalys nodded, satisfied, and pinched Sophia's face. Sophia winced in pain; her facial bones felt as if they might shatter. The nerve pain was excruciating, and saliva dribbled from her mouth.

"Are you disabled? Look, you're even drooling," Odalys said, withdrawing her hand dismissively. She chuckled. "I'll help you ask the psychiatrist if there's something wrong with your brain. Otherwise, why would you drool!"

Her taunts enraged and humiliated Sophia. Images of Odalys's arrogant expression and Percival's menacing figure flashed in her mind; she remembered almost being crippled by Percival.

"I'll kill you!" Sophia lunged, enraged.

Before her hand reached Odalys, Odalys grabbed her neck and lifted her.

"Let go of me!" Sophia cried, terrified.

Her feet kicked wildly in the air. Odalys's grip tightened, suffocating Sophia. Her eyes rolled as she reached for her brothers.

"Help me!" Sophia screamed in pain.

Terror gripped her; she couldn't understand Odalys's sudden strength. She clawed at Odalys's face, but Odalys only tightened her grip.

Sophia screamed, her cries echoing in the ward. The Bennett brothers finally reacted.

"Odalys, what are you doing? Let go of Sophia!" Atlas stepped forward.

Before he could reach Odalys, she threw Sophia away. Sophia's body knocked Atlas down, her head hitting his chin. Atlas bit his tongue, screaming in pain. The ward descended into chaos.

As Odalys advanced, Sophia recoiled in fear, wanting to escape. She saw Odalys as a devil. She never expected Odalys to be so terrifying.

"Don't come near me," Sophia whispered, shrinking into a corner, her eyes filled with fear and defiance. She wanted to kill Odalys but also feared death.

Odalys merely gave her a disdainful look before walking to the bed. She looked down at Hannah, laughing softly. "Mrs. Bennett, I heard your leg was broken, so I came to visit. By the way, why are you so unlucky lately?"

She lowered her voice, looking playfully at Hannah. "You're really unlucky. Your leg is broken, your face injured in the explosion...Could it be that you've done too many bad things and are haunted by a ghost? When you fall asleep at night, it might be by your bed, pulling your blanket," Odalys said, then took a step back, whispering, "Heavens, I'm just kidding! Ghosts don't pester me. The Bennett family is powerful. If you want trouble, go find them."
