Chapter 69

Odalys wanted the Rennet family to regret their past decisions and be tormented by their guilt.

"Do you want it?" Odalys asked in a seductive voice.

Hannah looked at her playful expression and snorted coldly. "If you weren't my daughter, I wouldn't wear it."

As soon as she finished speaking, Odalys nodded slightly. "Forget it then," she said, turning and walking out.

Hannah watched her depart in shock. Anxious to stop her, she tried to stand, but her broken leg prevented her. She roared, "Odalys, get back here!"

Hannah's anxiety intensified. Oliver's words echoed in her ears. Seeing Odalys leave, she panicked. She regretted returning the emerald pendant. Had she known its power, she never would have let Odalys take it. The emerald pendant was hers! Why had Odalys given it to her, only to snatch it back?

"Henry, stop her and get the emerald pendant back!" Hannah shouted urgently at Henry, who stood dazed. Stunned, he subconsciously chased after Odalys.

As he reached the door, which had been open, he bumped into an invisible barrier. His face hurt; blood flowed from his nose. He stared at the open door in disbelief.

"What's going on!" Henry exclaimed, stunned. He gritted his teeth and tried again, only to be thrown back, his face bruised and swollen.

Hannah, enraged, yelled, "Henry, stop it! Caspian, get my emerald pendant back!"

Caspian stood quietly. He'd been arrested the previous night for drug possession, but released after a night's examination due to a police error. Regardless of the mistake, the news had spread, ruining his reputation.

"Okay," Caspian said, walking out.

Henry, eager to prove the barrier's existence, rushed out and found nothing. He seemed to have been acting.

"How did this happen?" Henry was confused. He looked at Hannah, who glared at him angrily, clearly disbelieving him.

Feeling aggrieved, Henry left, only to discover Odalys was gone. Their search proved fruitless.

"Odalys is doing this on purpose. She's trying to create conflict within the Rennet family," Henry realized.

"Henry, let's kill her," Caspian gritted his teeth.

Henry looked at him incredulously. "She's with the Stewart family. Do you dare kill her?"

"Then why did we let her marry Percival? If Sophia had married into the Stewart family, we wouldn't be in this mess," Caspian complained.

Henry fell silent, reflecting on their mistake. He regretted forcing Odalys to marry Percival. The Stewart family's power was immense; even if Percival died, Sophia's marriage would have secured their alliance.

He hadn't even dared to report the incident with the barrier for fear of the Stewart family's retaliation. He wondered if an alliance with the Stewarts via Sophia's marriage would have been possible.

This thought lingered. He gritted his teeth. "We need to tell the Stewart family about Odalys." He turned and went back into the ward.

Odalys left the hospital in high spirits. After buying food, she drove back to the Stewart Mansion, arriving at 4:30 p.m.

She found Dorian holding his abdomen, pained.

"Dorian, are you alright?" Odalys asked.

He appeared to be on guard. Seeing Odalys, he approached eagerly, as if she were a lifeline.

"Mrs. Stewart, you're back," Dorian said, his face pained but his posture elegant.

"What's wrong?" Odalys asked.

Embarrassed, Dorian whispered, "I took your medicine twice. I passed a lot of kidney stones. It's very painful; even painkillers don't help."

"I'll prescribe something else," Odalys replied, walking to the medicinal herbs in the living room (perhaps by Percival's or Dorian's arrangement).

She selected some herbs and gave them to him. "Brew these for twenty minutes. You'll feel better afterward."

"Thank you, Mrs. Stewart," Dorian said gratefully, tears welling up.

Odalys went upstairs, showered, and lay down. She took out the hair she’d pulled from Sophia in the ward.

"Sophia," she murmured, a surge of joy at Sophia's misery. In her past life, she had been suppressed and brainwashed. Revenge was necessary; this was nothing compared to what they had done to her. She sat up, dipped her finger in magic dust, drew a talisman, added two of Sophia's hairs, which self-combusted, revealing images to Odalys.

A force was preventing anyone from seeing Sophia's past. It was powerful, even bouncing Odalys back.

Odalys narrowed her eyes, tapped her finger, and whispered, "Break."

The barrier shattered, the force dissolving. She saw a blurry image of young Sophia, her bones altered. A knock came at the door.
