Chapter 126

โ€œAt the Myers Manor,โ€ Silas said, his voice smooth and inviting.

โ€œOkay, letโ€™s head back and check it out,โ€ Calliope replied, waving goodbye to Rafferty and the others. She followed Silas, curiosity piquing her every step.

Fagan was driving, and Silas couldnโ€™t help but glance at Calliope. His eyes seemed glued to her as if she were the only thing in the world worth looking at.

Feeling the heat of his gaze, Calliope shifted uncomfortably. She couldnโ€™t help but ask, โ€œWhat kind of gift is it?โ€

โ€œCurious, are you?โ€ Silas teased.

โ€œVery,โ€ Calliope admitted eagerly. โ€œIs it because itโ€™s too big to bring over that you sent it to the manor?โ€

โ€œExactly. Bringing it over would have been a bitโ€ฆ ostentatious,โ€ Silas replied with a mysterious smile. โ€œI think youโ€™ll like it. Care to take a guess?โ€

Calliope propped her chin on her hand, deep in thought. โ€œSomething sent to the Myers Manor, too ostentatious to carry aroundโ€ฆ That means itโ€™s pretty big but not something fixed like a house or a yachtโ€ฆโ€ She squinted, pondering, โ€œCould it be a car?โ€

Silas shook his head. โ€œNot a car.โ€

โ€œMrs. Myers, you might want to think outside the box,โ€ Fagan suggested from the driverโ€™s seat. โ€œMr. Myers put much thought into this. Maybe consider what you want or love.โ€

Calliope was stumped. She was wealthy, with cars, houses, and wonderful brothers. The only thing she ever wanted was family affection from the Jewell family, but that was beyond Silasโ€™s reach. As for other desires, sheโ€™d lost her grandfather, but he was beyond returning. Houses, cars, yachts, even planesโ€“she had them all. What could Silas give her?

Yet, he might not know she was already well-off, with properties and businesses. Men typically gifted women with bags, jewelry, flowers, and clothes.

Calliopeโ€™s eyes widened with a sudden thought. โ€œIs it a massive pile of cash?โ€

Silas chuckled softly, โ€œDo I seem that tacky?โ€ He knew she wasnโ€™t short on money, though he did wish sheโ€™d spend his. He wanted to give her everything he had, and a large part of his drive to earn was to provide for her.

โ€œNo?โ€ Calliope puffed out her cheeks. โ€œThen is it a mountain of flowers or some rare exotic variety?โ€ She did love flowers, and men did love gifting them.

Silas remained silent, knowing the Myers Manor was already filled with her favorite blooms, blooming in every season.

โ€œStill no? Is it a designer handbag? Clothing? Jewelry? A massive antique? Maybe a masterpiece painting?โ€ Calliope rattled off possibilities, but Silas just smiled, giving nothing away.

โ€œThink bigger,โ€ Fagan prompted from the front.

Calliope hesitated, โ€œSurely, youโ€™re not giving me a troupe of handsome men?โ€

Silasโ€™s face turned serious. โ€œIs that what you want?โ€

โ€œOf course not,โ€ Calliope burst into laughter. โ€œJust kidding. No pretty boy can outshine you, honey.โ€

Hearing that, Silasโ€™s heart swelled with pride.
