Chapter 375

Fleur never imagined Calliope would see right through her and even notice her headache with only a glance.

Fleur looked at her with a hint of suspicion. Could Calliope really be that good?

But Fleur wouldnโ€™t admit it. She shook her head and said, โ€œIโ€™m not having a headache. Youโ€™ve got it wrong.โ€

Verity glanced around and chuckled, โ€œOh, Fleur, are you afraid of being called out? If you have a headache, admit it. Planning two weddings in one year for your son isnโ€™t easy. If I were in your shoes, Iโ€™d feel more than a headache. I might have passed out from the stress!โ€

Fleur rolled her eyes, not bothering to respond. Verity would always say things that could drive her up the wall.

The truth was that Fleur did have a headache, especially when dealing with Yvetteโ€™s family. They were exhausting, constantly calling to demand this and that and going on about how many people they were bringing to the wedding, expecting her to prepare.

She dreaded the thought of Yvetteโ€™s parents showing up at the wedding. It would be such an embarrassment. But they were Yvetteโ€™s parents, and it was a tricky situation to handle.

โ€œCallie, could you help me out with some acupuncture? I trust you!โ€ Verity clasped Calliopeโ€™s hand, looking at her eagerly.

Calliope nodded, withdrawing her hand to pull out her acupuncture needles, then gave Verity a few careful pricks.

โ€œFeels a bit warm,โ€ Verity remarked.

โ€œThatโ€™s normal. Give it a bit, and youโ€™ll feel much better,โ€ Calliope assured her. โ€œYour neck muscles are quite tense. You should try to move around more often.โ€

โ€œI do tend to hunch over a lot and donโ€™t move enough,โ€ Verity admitted. โ€œLately, my neckโ€™s been getting stiffer and more painful. Iโ€™ve seen a few doctors, but they all say thereโ€™s nothing they can do except for me to move more.โ€

Verity grumbled, โ€œBut our Callie here knows what sheโ€™s doing. Just a few needles, and I feel so much better!โ€ After about ten minutes, Calliope removed the needles and told Verity to get up and move around. Verity stood up, twisted her neck, and looked at Calliope in amazement. โ€œThe painโ€™s gone, and my neck so much looser! Wow, Callie, you are amazing. No wonder they call you the Miracle Doctor. Youโ€™re the real deal!โ€

Calliope smiled as she packed up her needles. โ€œItโ€™s nothing special. It is a basic technique, and many doctors can do it.โ€

โ€œWell, youโ€™re the only one Iโ€™ve seen do it,โ€ Verity insisted, proudly. โ€œIf I say youโ€™re amazing, youโ€™re amazing!โ€

Calliope chuckled, shaking her head at Verityโ€™s stubbornness.

โ€œWhoโ€™s amazing?โ€ came a familiar voice.

Gideon walked in with Yvette, the two of them arm in arm, looking quite the happy couple.

Calliope glanced up as they entered.

Upon seeing Calliope, Gideon instinctively pulled his arm away from Yvette.

Caught off guard, Yvette looked at Gideon in disbelief.

โ€œCallie, when did you get here?โ€ Gideon asked, surprised.

โ€œCallie?โ€ Yvette echoed, frowning at Gideon. โ€œGideon, you should be calling her Aunt Callie!โ€

Gideon shot Yvette a cold look, which made her instantly shut up. She suddenly didnโ€™t dare to say another word.
