Fleur’s ears perked up the moment she heard Calliope speak.

“What do we need to do? Just tell me, and I’ll make sure she follows through. She’s gotten herself into this mess. If she can’t have a child, I’ll make sure Gideon divorces her!”

Given that they’d just gotten married, a divorce wouldn’t be ideal for Gideon, so she decided to give it a try. But if Yvette couldn’t have children, a divorce might be the only option.

Thinking about Yvette’s foolish actions, Fleur grew increasingly irritated. She took a sip of her coffee, her annoyance palpable. “Do you think if Yvette hadn’t taken that nasty spill, she’d be able to get pregnant now?”

Calliope nodded. “If she had listened to the doctor and dealt with things early on, a bit of rest and care might have been all she needed. Her situation is a bit unique, though. Her body has some issues, so getting pregnant isn’t going to be easy.”

But for Calliope, these weren’t insurmountable problems.

Originally, if Yvette took proper care of herself, having a healthy baby wouldn’t have been an issue. Now, things were uncertain. The odds were not in her favor.

“It’s all her own fault!” Fleur grumbled. “She tried to ruin you and ended up ruining herself. What an idiot!”

Calliope was silent for a moment, looking at Fleur thoughtfully. “If you really want my help, we should have a treatment agreement, and you’ll need to make a video recording. I can’t promise a full recovery, but I can aim for about seventy percent.”

“That’s good enough!” Fleur replied without hesitation. “Agreement, video, whatever you need.”

Calliope bobbed her head. “Alright.”

A short while later, Fleur hesitated, her voice a bit uncertain. “Um, Callie, about Gideon… can I speak to you about that too?”

Calliope had suspected Fleur’s visit wasn’t just about Yvette. It was also about Gideon.

Because of his own actions, Gideon was no longer eligible to inherit the Baker Group. Silas, no doubt, wouldn’t give him another chance.

Fleur didn’t dare approach Silas directly, so she turned to Calliope.

“You don’t need to say anything. I can’t make decisions on that,” Calliope noted.

“Callie, you’re Silas’s wife. He’ll listen to you! I’ve seen how well he treats you. He’ll definitely listen if you ask him to help!”

“Gideon has the capability. The fact that Silas considered him shows he has the potential. Honestly, Calista is still too young to handle such responsibilities! I really think Gideon is the better choice.”

“I understand Silas is upset because of what happened to you, but Gideon wasn’t involved. It was that dim-witted Yvette attempting to frame you! Gideon is doing his best to prove himself! Callie, please, for the sake of what we once had, help Gideon out! We’d all be so grateful!”

Fleur looked at Calliope with pleading eyes.

“We’re family, after all. If you help Gideon, we would find ways to repay you. In the future, I promise to treat you well!”

Calliope sighed, her expression complicated. She never thought she’d see the day when Fleur would be the one asking her for a favor.
