Chapter 484
โAlright, alright, we can take you to her. Just let us go, okay?โ
โYeah, weโll take you to her!โ
The group of men were clearly terrified of Calliope. None of them could quite figure out how she was so strong, but they knew one thing for sure: they couldnโt mess with her.
They quickly agreed to her demands.
Calliope shoved the leader into her car without a second thought. Then, she tied up the rest of them and instructed, โSomeoneโs bound to come by soon. Tell them where Iโve gone and have them free you!โ
With that, Calliope drove off with the leader, leaving the others behind. The man sat in the backseat, bruised and battered, while Calliope drove from the front.
โDonโt even think about trying anything funny,โ she warned. โIf you do, itโll be the end of you.โ
As soon as she finished speaking, the car accelerated sharply.
The man, who had been contemplating overpowering her, was jolted back into his seat. He felt the speed increasing, and with it, his anxiety. Frantically fastening his seatbelt, he pleaded, โPlease, slow down! This road has sharp turns. We could go flying off a cliff at this speed!โ
โIf youโre so scared, then shut your mouth,โ Calliope shot back, not even glancing in his direction.
The car roared through the mountain road, the only vehicle cutting through the night.
In the backseat, the man was too terrified to utter another word.
Meanwhile, in a suburban mansion, Fleur was brimming with confidence. โThis time, sheโs got no way out. Those guys are the best youโve got. Calliope will have no choice but to play by my rules.โ
โOf course. Those bodyguards are top-notch, trained by me personally. Relax, Gideonโs future is secure in our hands,โ Gabriel Lawson said with a smug smile, swirling a glass of whiskey.
โIs this really okay?โ Gideon asked, his brow furrowed. โUncle, Momโฆ if Silas finds out, heโll never forgive us!โ
โGideon, stop being such a coward!โ Fleur snapped. โYouโve got to be bold to achieve great things. If you donโt say anything and I donโt say anything, how would Silas ever find out about today?โ
Gabriel chuckled lightly, โAnd that woman who left you? Sheโs even less likely to breathe a word. If she dares, those photos will be all over the world.โ
Fleur said through gritted teeth. โGideon, remember, sheโs the reason youโre in this mess. That witch never wanted you. She was always after Silas! Did you really think she loved you? She never did! Sheโs no good, that one!โ
Gideon paused, his thoughts clouded with doubt. He remembered all the times sheโd claimed to love him, yet never allowed him to get too close. She must have been involved with Silas already. Maybe she really was only ever after Silas.
That womanโฆ she deserves whatโs coming to her!
As he imagined Calliope being humiliated, an unsettling thrill crept over him.
Once sheโs broken, she wonโt dare defy him again, right? Sheโd be begging on her knees for his forgiveness!
