Chapter 201
With Zach's recommendation, Sienna easily gained entry to the Flynn Group and proceeded directly to the CEO's office on the top floor. It wasn't her first visit; even the secretaries recognized her. They had even printed a photograph of her and placed it on their desksโafter all, she was the woman Mr. Flynn showed special attention to, and thus, deserved to be taken seriously.
"Ms. Shaw, please," the smiling secretary said, leading her to the door but remaining outside.
"Thank you," Sienna replied.
"You're welcome," the secretary responded.
Sienna entered. To her surprise, Mr. Flynn, whom Zach had described as busy, was in his office, looking quite relaxed. He wasn't alone.
Josiah sat back in his large chair with his eyes closed. Behind him stood a young woman in a thin-strapped dress that almost reached her ankles. Her figure was curvaceous, and her makeup, though beautiful, was somewhat heavy.
Neither of them seemed to notice her arrival. The woman gently placed her fingers on Josiah's shoulder, massaging it slowly. "Mr. Flynn," she said in a sweet, coquettish voice, "is this pressure alright?"
Josiah relaxed his facial muscles, looking content. "Not bad, but you can press a little harder."
The woman paused, looking troubled. More pressure? Is Mr. Flynn treating me like a professional masseuse? A male one at that? she thought.
Sienna cleared her throat. "Sorry to interrupt," she said.
The woman looked up, relieved, only to see another womanโand one prettier than herself, even without makeup. A sense of threat washed over her.
"And who might you be...?" With Josiah present, the woman dared not display any attitude, forcing a polite smile. "Is there something you need?"
Sienna ignored her, looking only at Josiah. "Zach told me to come up. He said you'd be willing to see me."
Josiah, seemingly oblivious, continued enjoying the massage with his eyes closed.
Sienna frowned, considering leaving. But for Rosie's sake, she couldn't let her pride interfere, so she remained standing.
After a while, Josiah opened his eyes, still acting as if Sienna wasn't there. He glanced at his watch and said in a deep voice, "That's enough, stop." This was directed at the woman behind him.
"Yes, Mr. Flynn," the woman replied, immediately ceasing and standing properly.
Josiah stood, straightened his shirt, and then, as if noticing Sienna for the first time, raised an eyebrow and offered a playful grin. "You're here! Why so quiet?"
Did he do that on purpose? Sienna thought. Alright, I should tolerate it. She forced a smile. "Mr. Flynn, I noticed you seem quite busy."
"Busy? Oh, yes," Josiah said, stretching out his arm and pulling the woman forward. "What do you think of her?"
Sienna was taken aback. Why would he ask that? she wondered.
Josiah's impatience grew. "I'm asking you a question."
Sienna hesitated, carefully choosing her words. "She's pretty, and she has a great figure." It was awkward; she didn't dare look at the woman.
Josiah seemed pleased, looking at the woman admiringly. "Right, let me introduce youโthis is my new girlfriend."
Both women were startled. The woman, in particular, couldn't hide her excitement, her eyes immediately turning red. She looked eagerly at Josiah, lifting her hand as if to take his.
However, Josiah didn't glance at her, his gaze remaining on Sienna. He smiled. "I think what you said makes sense. You're not the only girl for me. If I want a girlfriend, I can find one. Besides, I'm single now!"
The four years without Sienna had been different; even when she was away, their marriage had continued to exist.
"I can find a girlfriend," Josiah repeated.
"Yeah, that's true," Sienna agreed, thinking, But why is he telling me this?
Josiah's face fell, his smile vanishing. He grabbed the woman's hand. "Let'sโ"
"Oh, okay," the woman replied.
Sienna thought, What just happened? Did they leave like that? But I haven't even mentioned Rosie's issue yet. She felt a sense of loss.
Without hesitation, she ran after them. "Mr. Flynn! I have something to say about Rosieโ"
Josiah stopped and glanced back. "I'm busy right now."
Sienna was taken aback. Does he not have time to listen to my pleas? Or is he doing this on purpose to make me give up? He definitely won't let Rosie off easily! she thought.
To everyone's surprise, Josiah said quickly, "Follow me! We'll talk on the way!"
A glimmer of hope appeared in Sienna's eyes. "Oh, okay!"
At the garage, Josiah opened the backseat door, and the woman instinctively leaned to enter. "Who told you to get in?" Josiah's voice was icy.
"Mr. Flynn!" The woman was nervous. Where should I sit? she wondered. Josiah frowned and nodded toward the front seat. "You sit in the passenger seat."
The woman's eyes widened. Sienna was equally surprised. Let a girlfriend sit in the front passenger seat? she thought.
Before she could think further, Josiah grabbed her wrist and pushed her into the backseat.
Even as the car drove off, Sienna remained confused, staring at the back of the girlfriend's head. Cold sweat trickled down her neck.
Josiah, annoyed by her staring, said in a low voice, "Didn't you have something to say to me?"
"Uh, yes," Sienna snapped out of it, turning slightly and placing her hands firmly on her knees. "Mr. Flynn, about Rosie injuring Yvetteโ"
Josiah was about to lose his temper after hearing only that one sentence. "Mr. Flynn!"
Sienna was startled. Is there something wrong with that title? she thought. Seeing his dark expression, she realized there was a problem. She tried to correct herself. "Josiah."
His expression didn't improve, but it didn't worsen either. He waved his hand. "Go on."
Sienna pressed her lips together. "Rosie didn't mean to. They had an argument, and Yvette understood. She even dropped the charges beforeโ"
Josiah propped his chin on his hand, staring intently at her.
Sienna struggled to continue. "Can we see to this? We'll pay the medical bills and visit Yvette in the hospitalโฆ"
Josiah sneered, shooting her a disdainful look. "Do you think I can't cover the medical bills? Or hire a nurse? Do I look like I'm short of money?"
